Ok, I know that there are many different levels of lucidity, But why not have a rating system for LD? Ok, The MQS works like this:
Level 1: Lowest Level possible of Lucidity; Only dimly aware of dream, may not realize DC’s do not pose a threat. May lose Lucidity completly after mere seconds.
Level 2: Low Level of lucidity; Ability to control own actions, but lack of more advanced dream control. May be unsure if DC poses threat or not; LD typically last longer than Level 1.
Level 3: Moderate Level of lucidity; Dreamer is fully aware he/she is dreaming, but may not have complete control over dream.
Level 4: High level of lucidity; Deamer has complete control over his/her dream, and knows his/her limitations.
Level 5: OBE
Please tell me what you think about my new scale!
Actually, no…I’m keeping an anolog one… and if fact, I’ve been having such gruelsome nightmares the past week or so… I havn’t bothered to record them… (These nightmares where depressing, and obscene… can’t tell you what happened in them or i might be banned…)
Nobody has ever been banned from posting a dream We have no control of what happens in a non-lucid dream, but we can control which words we use to describe them. The spoiler tag is a good thing when a dream is really bad.
I have seen a similar scale in use by a dream journal site, and possibly in a book. Because of copyright issues, i can’t copy and paste that scale. It also included a level where the dreamer had no idea at all that they were dreaming.
I too have seen systems like this all over the place. It makes me wonder though, do we have these low level lucid dreams only because we are told they exist? I feel like we put these limits inside of our heads and therefore the reason why we cannot alter everything is simply because we won’t allow ourselves.
