My 1st try in lucid dreaming.

When i 1st tried to go into lucid dream i used WILD cuz i didnt know about the rest of the ways.It was all going well i was relaxed and was not moving, and then i started feeling kinda weird and felt something like fingers on my back for a second and started seeing 2d pictures but barely seeing them like no colors or backgrounds just ‘‘characters’’ and then after 1 of the pictures dissapeared something like monster face formed in front of me( i could barely see it as i said and it was 2d) my heart started beating really fast and i was scared alot and tried to think of something else but i couldnt i ‘‘couldnt close my eyes’’ and not see it anymore cuz they were closed. i remmember my eyes moving realy fast in all directions like they were trying to avoid looking the picture. when i opened my eyes everything was blurry ( i thought its and sleep paralysis) but then i move like nothing happened ( i wasnt dreaming i was fully awake). I havent tried since then but i want to and i want to have my 1st LD !

If you want to have the best chances for LD’s then it’s very important that you train your dream recall, because you could actually forget a lucid dream if your ability to remember dreams isn’t good enough.
So I highly recommend that you start keeping a Dream Journal, where you write down your dreams with as much detail as possible a few times a week.
This is actually very important, because not only does it improve your dream recall, it also makes you more focused on your dreaming life so you might spontaneously turn lucid just because you are so familiar with your dreams and can more clearly “feel” when you are in a dream.
You should also get used to staying as aware as possible in your waking life as well, and constantly ask yourself questions that will prompt your awareness - stuff like “how did I get here?”, “what happened a while ago?”, “where am I now?”, “does everything here make sense?” etc.
I always recommend beginners to start with those two things (DJ and LL), because I believe they are the ultimate foundation for everything else.

WILD might be a little too hard for beginners, but try it if you feel that you are getting somewhere.
But generally the WBTB + MILD combo tends to be more ideal to start with.
That combo works because you wake yourself up in the middle of a dream period, and then go back to sleep and instantly enter the interrupted dream period again with a more alert mind, and an intention to recognize the dream when it occurs.

At the moment im doing MILD (i mean im in progress) i ask myself trough the day if this is a dream and i switch lights on and off. I go to bed earlier so i can get a good sleep and hope i remember my dreams and i have a notebook next to my head so when i wake up i will write my dreams if i remember them. I read somewhere that if you eat a banana ( it contains b6) before bed or drink a cup of milk your dreams are more vivid and you have a better chance of remembering your dreams. Can you give me any advice in how to improve my dream recall? Also thanks for your reply any information will be helpful!

If you’re doing MILD be sure to do it after WBTB!

Improving your recall is a gradual thing. When you wake up and don’t remember much, stay there and try your hardest to remember things. Don’t give up!

That’s good, just make sure you put a lot of serious effort into it.
Remember that the whole point in doing Reality Checks is to become more aware of yourself and your surroundings, and also develop a questioning attitude.
Whenever you do a Reality Check you should make sure that you are not dreaming and really have doubts until you are absolutely sure that you are awake - you normally accept your dreams as waking life as well, and people sometimes even have dreams where they believe they might be dreaming, then after trying a few failed RC’s they conclude that they are awake - and suddenly wake up for real!
I have had several dreams like this myself and it’s quite annoying (but also kind of fascinating).
This is one of the reasons why should always make sure that you are awake whenever you do an RC.

That’s great, this is some of the most important parts when you practice lucid dreaming.
Enough sleep will allow you to get long REM periods = long dreams, which obviously will give you more time to realize that you are dreaming during the dream, and writing down your dreams will make them more prevalent in your life and also increase your dream recall.
Stick with it! :good:

Yeah, there are lots of foods that can improve your dream vividness, although it is still important that you practice your dream recall with a DJ.
Combining both things is no doubt a very good idea.
