My dream recall is awful.

I try relaxing myself, but that never works. I’ve had a dream journal for five days, and I could only remember one, and that was from the first day I tried. Since then, nothing. I can’t remember. So, any pointers as to what I should do?

Hiya Sezril,

I’ve been keeping a dream journal now since October 2002. I average about 4 dreams a night and am able to remember them quite well, but this was not always the case. For me it was important to keep reminding myself to remember my dreams. When I would wake up I would gradually remember more each day. I would lay there until I could remember something, even writing down the impressions I felt if that was all I could recall. It is CRUCIAL to keep telling yourself to remember. Gradually, you will. Also, the relaxation that you do helps a great deal.

p.s.

I still have yet to have a lucid dream :eh: .
Persistance pays.

The most reliable method I’ve ever encoutered for remembering dreams, is simply to wake up several times during the night. Don’t go crazy and set an alarm to wake you up every 30 minutes, but just 2 or 3 times in the late morning. Not only does this give you a huge chance of having an LD, but you’ll find that it also allows you to remember at least 2 or 3 vivid dreams each night.

Thanks…I’ll try my best.
