My experiences with False Lucid Dreams

I’m pretty sure i’ve had some False Lucid Dreams. But i don’t know why. . It’s as if i said “I’m dreaming” but i don’t really comprehend it. I carry out my goals however, i do so in a way that is not me. I wouldn’t really do some of those things in any other LD. For example: I had an LD and my dad was following me. To make him stop, i whipped out a gun and shot him! . If it was any other LD i would fly away to a different location or tell him it’s a dream and ask him to leave. And then i was looking for a toilet to flush myself in (( funny story) and i walked past all these houses to get to a mansion to flush myself. In any other ld i’d just enter one of those random houses to get to the toilet. See what i mean? I know i was lucid in the beginning but it just tapered off? Any solutions maybe? :help:

I may know the cause though? For my MILD teq. that i use, i use a repeated mantra and then i spend the rest of the time thinking about what I’m going to do in my dream. Then I fall asleep. Maybe this happens because i spend more time thinking about what i’m going to do then i think about actually being lucid. Maybe it’s more of dream incubation?

Well when I had my first lucid dream it was my first try, I had NO CLUE what I was going to dream about… I just repeated ‘lucid dreams’ in my head with every breath until I started drifting off and then I had an extremely short LD. -shrugs- Each time my thoughts wandered off I jerked them back to ‘Lucid dreams, lucid dreams, lucid dreams…’ -shrugs-

ive had a false LD, for a while i thought i was really lucid, but then i just lost it, now that ive read about false LDing and consulting my DJ i’ve decided it was a false LD

I had a false LD not long ago too, I know it was false as even during it i didnt remember how it started or when, plus i had very little control, but at the least i had thought, thats a good sign, in a normal dream you are mainly a non-interactive observer until prompted by a DC or event but in my case there was independant thought, hell i was jumping around and was terrified at getting hurt so i turned myself into the Hulk which i find very strange as i really really dont like the Hulk.

For me, when a week or two from my LD passes, I start to doubt if it was an LD or FLD

Well if its an LD all you really have to do to einfocre in your mind that its an LD and not a FLD then simply say “i am lucid dreaming” or something to that effect.
