My first attempts at L-Dreaming.

Last night, upon reading your site for the first time… and reading ALL of it, I was so fucking excited about going to sleep. I kept murmering to myself ‘I will remember my dream’ and etc.

Then I went to sleep and woke up. Nothing happened

I still wrote down how nothing happened though

BTW, WELCOME TO THE FORUMS, ME!!!

Persistance pays off my friend, just keep at it and you will succeed. Lucid dreaming rarrely happens that fast for someone anyway, so don’t get discouraged.

Its good that you wrote down how nothing happened though. Always write what happened down, even if it was nothing.

Hoo-ray

hehe, my first night I did the same thing. I was so hyped up it was like a constant caffeine rush through the night.

According to laberge you should be able to atleast rememeber 1 dream a night before doing inducion methods. You pretty much have the first step of MILD down, reciting a mantra. RC’s throughout the day though help MILD along tremendously (for me atleast) The 2nd step of MILD is reilizeing your dreaming, the mantra will not do it for you, you yourself have to remember while in a dream that you are dreaming!

To reword, the Mantra of a MILD is suppost to remind you later on in the night that your dreaming thus LD, usually the mantra is the last thing you think about when you are dreaming so your in the mindset of LDing. The next step is to remember the mantra while dreaming. This was the only thing i was forgetting when I did MILD.

:welcome:

you might want to post in the BIG “Hi I’m new here!” topic in the Gathering if you haven’t already done so :content:

Patience is a Virtue

A Virtue I exercise quite a lot when it comes to LD’s, btw. I’d be surprised if god doesn’t give me a phonecall to reward my virtuosity next…

Its like the matrix, everyone falls the first time.

Just give it some time, and it will all come together. Hmm, one day on the forum and already giving advice.

Also you may want to practice being calm, if you get too hyped up in a dream you will wake up. This is the worst if a LD is just starting.

Be cool

Yes, thank you

But, I hate to say it, but I dont dream much anymore, really.

It’s a sad thing. I love dreaming. I really only ‘remember’ my dream when it was big and exciting. Therefore I dont ‘dream’ much, so to say.

Anyways, i’ll be damned if I dont start dreaming alot more soon. I really wanna try this LD stuff :cool_laugh:

Everybody dreams everynight (about 5 dreams, one per sleep cycle). You just have to remember them, and for this to happen you have to get a dream journal and increase your dream recall.

BTW, welcome to the forum, you!

Yes, yes, yes. I have one… kinda.
I said that I dont dream much because I never really recal my dreams. BUT TONIGHT I DID! w00t!

Anyways, I remembered my dream this morning. I wrote it down, and here it is:
-------------

#Place: My House
#Time: Night

// I almost forgot this! It was strange, I knew it was a dream once I woke up,
// but I havn’t even thought about it 'till now. Anyways, here it goes:

I am at my house, bouncing on the trampoline with my brother and his

friend. I am telling my brother how short the day was for me.

//Just until 2 weeks ago, my whole summer had been "Stay up all night,
//and sleep untill 3 or 5 in the afternoon. I didn’t really like sleeping so long,
//but it was hard for me to get to sleep.

I told him that, "All I did today was wake up, go swimming with you guys at the lake,
(I actually forgot where exactly we went swimming, but i’m pretty sure it was the lake.
) then come bounce on the trampoline here, and it’s already night time! Then my brother
replied, in a positive way, but I forgot what he said.

Anyways, that’s the end of the dream.

Boring, but it seems like a real situation I could most likely be in.
I beleive that it is reflecting on how I need to get in a better sleep
pattern. Of course, my sleep has gotten better in the last week, becuase
I was with my dad the whole time. And when I am at his house everything is different,
in a lot of ways. But anyways, I went to bed early and got up early. Yay for me.

Wow… Everybody, there is no reason to read the above. I sometimes like to
rattle on…

BUT IF I COULD ONLY THINK THAT I WAS DREAMING!! Damn, that woulda been so fun. Nomatter the
circumstances. =D

P.S. If I had reached lucidity in this dream, do you think that if I went up into my room,
I would find my body, sleeping? I bet I would, considering how I know that I am dreaming and all…

Good question! :content: Indeed, it makes me understand that I never saw my body sleeping because during lucid false awakenings, I believe I’ve got out of my bed. But it’s possible to dream that you see your body sleeping. Some people did it.

Good luck with your dream recall!

Meehhhh, I didn’t even go to sleep last night
