my first ld in nearly a year!

i haven’t been able to have a lucid dream in a long time. I had had a break for 3 months a while ago and then tried again for a long couple of months without much effort after that, but have put a lot of effort into LD in the last 2 months.
My work had paid off, but the funny thing is, last night i just fell asleep naturally and early in the morning i noticed i was looking outside a home situated in Canada. I dont live in Canada and i was paying a lot of attention to the natural landforms and manmade buildings. I then noticed i shouldnt be in Canada and i must be dreaming. I did a RC by blowing out my nose with it pinched shut and yep, i was dreaming. I then started flying, as you do, and tried to imagine a friend beside me. My friend appeared but was very very vague beyond visual recognition. I then started to lose it and eventually woke up…it lasted longer than i expected. My last ld’s were shorter than this. I didnt think to try and spin around or anything like that…
I just hope i dont have to wait another long year till i have another one.

Congrats!

Now that you’ve actually had one, the rest should come must quicker and easier. It also took me a year to have a Lucid dream.

Cool, I’m also regaining my ability to LD after 3 years without any LD because of sleeping time issues and then I simply forgot how to LD, but I’m becoming a much better dreamer as my dream are very vivid and sometimes I get lucid when I think “This is probably a dream” without doing any RC’s, I guess that I became like this because of the sigil method.
And about staying lucid, as many will say, imagine a pill in your pocket, lucid pill or you can give it a name like “Lucidex” or something which makes you more lucid with “scientific” approval.
Oh and spinning around doesn’t work for anyone, in my case it doesn’t help or make me forget that I’m dreaming.

Congrats on the LD . I’m also working toward having more LDs after like a year of not even trying.

I’ve never tried spinning, some people say it works well, some say it doesn’t…I have stared at my hands once in my LD and that worked pretty good…my dream world was getting all blurry and I was starting to get “disconnected” from it, so I stared at my hands and it brought me back into the dream…even more fully than before I think.

It’s better to take precautions as soon as you enter an LD rather than relying on hand staring or spinning when it fades…so use devices like pills (as exshade suggested), or even shouting out something like “Increase Lucidity!”, just spend a bit of time making it as real and lucid as possible and it will last longer in the end
