Last night, I had two lucid dreams in one night! They were the first lucid dreams I’ve ever had. Here is what happened:
Before I went to bed yesterday, I did some self-hypnosis to help me recall my dreams. After I had gone to bed, I had some dreams (obviously) and I woke up at 4.15am. I wrote down the dream in my dream journal (which is almost full up after only a week!) and lay down in bed again. Then I thought to myself - ‘Why not try out my own method for inducing lucid dreaming while I’m here?’. Basically, I focussed very hard on the words ‘I am dreaming, I am dreaming, I am dreaming’. I did this for about 2 minutes before I fell asleep and had my first of the two lucid dreams. This first lucid wasn’t very good since I woke up as soon as I had become lucid (I was too excited I think)! I won’t bother going into the details about what actually happened in the dream because it lasted only 10 - 20 dream seconds (1 hour in real life). When I woke up from this first lucid dream, I was really excited but I managed to remain calm. I then started saying ‘I am dreaming, I am dreaming’ to myself again.
I then fell asleep, but I didn’t know it then! I was still saying ‘I am dreaming, I am dreaming’ in my dream! I then got out a massive book (in my dream) and opened it to a random page. It had the word ‘DREAM’ written all over it in massive 200pt or so font!! Believe it or not, I still didn’t believe I was dreaming, but I decided to do a reality check to see. I looked at the word, looked away and looked back. Unfortunately, it didn’t change at all so I didn’t know I was dreaming still. I lay there in my bed for 20 dream seconds and looked at it again. Then I saw something strange… The word ‘DREAM’ had been moved up the page! Before it was written across the middle, but now it was almost being cut off by the top of the book! I thought to myself ‘Hmm… Could I be dreaming?’. I got out of bed and looked at my alarm clock. The numbers shown were VERY strange… They didn’t make sense. I wasn’t that excited though - I was actually a little scared (although happy!). I now knew for sure I was dreaming! I remained calm (remembering my first lucid dream) and stood up. I walked towards the door and put my hand on the handle, but the dream was ending! I could feel it! I was really upset, but I managed to collect myself and spin on the spot. No good unfortunately! I woke up .
I was really happy when I had to wake up for school though! I’m still really happy now and I actually can’t wait to go to bed and try that technique again!
The strange thing is, my lucid dream was in 3rd person (most of my dreams are) but I could feel everything and see through my own eyes… It’s kind of difficult to explain… Hopefully I’ll have a longer one tonight.
Meh, feel free to comment .
