I’ve been reading about lucid dreaming for the past month and a half or so, and I’ve had 4 LDs since. It’s odd, because although I use some techniques before I go to sleep, each LD I have had has had nothing to do with those techniques. I do no reality checks in my dreams. I usually just somehow sense that I’m dreaming. Example:
My most recent lucid dream was that I was in a Greek/Roman-ish palace-type thing. The floors and walls were marble, and had many designs drawn or painted or carved into them. There were many vases and plants throughout this building, and there may have even been a fountain somewhere. Shortly after entering, I see a man with long hair, a beard, and a long white robe on. I immediately recognize this as Jesus (I am not Christian, however). I walked over to him and said something along the lines of , “Hey man, what’s up?” He sneezed into some sort of tissue, and within seconds, it registered in my mind that I was dreaming. You might think that I knew Jesus was dead and that this wasn’t possible, but I do not recall thinking anything of the sort. I just somehow… “knew” I was dreaming.
One of the things I’ve always wanted to do in a lucid dream is figure out religion/life matters, so I asked him, “Can you lead me through here? I want answers.” The disappointing part is that I knew I was dreaming and I knew what I wanted to do, but I did not have complete control over my actions, and I do not remember anything after this point, except that I followed him up a marble staircase.
In the lucid dream I had before this, I did not use any reality checks and, like the one above, I simply “knew” I was dreaming. I dunno how this works. Though, both of these dreams are rather foggy in my memory, so perhaps I just don’t remember myself doing RCs…?
Also, after both of my two most recent LDs, I have had odd dreams wherein I am talking to one of my good friends about how I just had a lucid dream. Is dream recalling within dreams a normal occurence?
