I have been experimenting the last two nights with lucid dreams. I discovered an interest in them after finding a website about them a couple days ago.
I never realised that soo many people are into this. I thought it was normal to know that your dreaming in a dream.
Almost 75% of my dreams, involve me knowing that I am dreaming, they always have since I was a kid. I also fall asleep easily and I usually have about two lucid dreams a night.
It was not until the last few nights that I began experimenting in my dreams, and trying to take control. Before this, I was aware that I was dreaming almost all the time, but never took advantage of it.
Here is my problem. My dreams are always kind of fuzzy, and not very clear. And so many people describe these ultra-realistic dreams that they have. I dont really have any of my senses other than moving and seeing. And nothing is really clear, its always kind of foggy, and I only remember bits and peices upon waking. My dreams never feel real! They are two foggy and dream-like.
Is there anyways to improve the lucidness and realness of my dreams? And what are some techniques to help me remember them?
In your case it seems all you need is a dream journal. It is a very efficient way to better your memory of dreams. When you are dreaming, make an effort to feel things, and take notice of the details. Try to be aware in the present moment and take it all in.
You can spin around and make sure to feel the sensations, this can make things more vivid. The idea is to involve yourself in the dream as much as you can.
Those two things are the easiest things you can do. Perhaps it is enough to just involve yourself in the dreams, but you might want to write it down anyway, because you’ll forget soon enough.
Indeed. Focus on remembering your dreams and the details, and before you know it, you will.
It’s not that your dreams are not “Ultra-realistic”, cos I’m pretty sure they are, but your dream recall is too poor to remember the details and stuff.
Perhaps focusing more on bettering your memory will help.
More then once, I’ve actually “taken pictures” in my dreams. I realised later that I can use my photographic memory in dreams too
and that helped me to remember them.
Thankyou so much everyone for your imput.
I think you are all most likely right.
I’m not too experienced with this.
And I have only just started journalling my dreams.
Hopefully if I continue doing this, my dreams will be remembered more vividly.
Also, when you wake up, speak out loud what the dream was about. Speaking it out loud will create cheap duplicates or your dream memory, so the next time you want to know what your dream was about, simply think “What did I say when I woke up?”, cos remembering something you did while awake is so much easier.
It sounds like your not fully lucid. Try to command your dream to become more lucid. It could be that your having dreams in the lower parts of your brain where dreams aren’t that well built. You may want to try the WILD technique, I’ve never had a problem with the quality of dreams by using WILD. Practice focus. If you are fully lucid your lucid dreams are more real than real life, and ALL of your senses are invigorated. So those things might be the problem.
You should at least be able to feel in dreams (remembering this is another thing entirely).
I have many “blind” dreams in which I can feel my surroundings, but no other sense.
