My second LD

Hi, I came to this forum several weeks ago, having previously experienced only one LD many years ago. For about a fortnight after finding this site I attempted some of the methods but with no luck. Three weeks ago I moved to university and almost forgot about LDing until a few nights ago when I experienced my second LD ever. In the dream I was travelling up a water slide against the flow of water and it dawned on me that this was obviously a dream, I started floating without even thinking about it, I wasn’t very vivid at this point and could feel the dream fading so I span and managed to stay lucid a little longer. I have terrible recall and have forgotten the rest of the dream, but what surprised me was that I forgot the dream until yesterday when a conversation happened to remind me of it. It occured to me that perhaps we have more LDs than we know. The dream itself was quite poor, I had little control over what I did despite being conscious, it wasn’t very vivid and strangely I had little desire to do anything I would normally want to. Anyone have any similair experiences?

Hello Phobetor, welcome to LD4all :welcome:

What you described to me sounded like a low-level LD. Just keep on working on LDing and soon they will be longer, more detailed, and with more control. Congrats.

Edit: Oh and keep a DJ if you can. They :help: alot for yor DR.

I find that when I lose lucidity, I’m left with only vague memories in the morning. If I awaken from the dream, that isn’t the case.

Yes I remember dreams later when I am doing something that reminds me of the dream. It can be years later that I remember a dream. We dream a lot, every night up to about 50min’s at a time. (Could be more for some people.) We normaly only remember some of the dreams. The ones we have just befor wakeing up are the ones we have the best chance to remember. That means that we might be having several LD’s per night that we do not remember. That is why it is so important to work on DR. If you get your DR up to several dreams a night, then you might find that you are having several LD’s a week, or even one a night, you have just been forgeting them each time. A DJ can also help by bringing up dream siduations that remind you of dreams that you have forgoten. If you are reading, or writing a dream, you might remember other dreams that were similar. You might even remember that something happens quite offten in dreams, but you have just been forgeting the dreams all the time.
So keep a DJ, read it from time to time, and work on DR.
