Ive allways wanted to do something big before I die, and I think I know what it will be. Ive made planes to walk from Oklahoma to North Carolina. Ive allready put in for my two week vacation. I plane to leave out some time in September. Do you think 500 bucks will be enough money for the journey?
How far is it beetwen Oklahoma and NC?
How far? What are your means of transportation going to be? For how long do you plan to make this last? I can hardly see 500 bucks being enough. I’d save at least double that.
It depends on where you plan to sleep, and how far you can walk every day. I’m guessing it’s about 2000 miles. If you can walk 40 miles per day, that’s 50 nights you’ll need to find a place to sleep. If it’s hotels, you will need alot of cash. Food for 2 months will also probably cost you more than $500.
As much as you’d want a spiritual exercise like this to be spontaneous (like Forrest Gump’s years of running), something like this DOES require alot of planning. Think about what you’ll need in terms of eating, sleeping/shelter, bathing, etc. and plan out your money needs from there. I would also advise having as much as twice the money you’ll predict you’ll need, because stuff DOES come up.
