Well, good thing we don’t have big billboards in our town. I don’t go outside very much either. But this thing scares me.
Edit: Just came to a thought that it may have some side effects to living organisms or so, then the use of them would be cancelled or something. (Or I just shut up because in tired state I can talk bunch of nonsense )
I watched a video of them using one of those audio spotlights online. They are pretty neat, but if they do put them on the billboards then that would just be annoying. Is just in the United States they’re going to start using them?
Aw man, why would they do that??? Isn’t that the same as subliminal advertising? Could you get confused between your own thoughts and advertising thoughts?
I guess this means that I’m not safe even in my own head!!!
(and by the way, I changed my username, I was Hypno)
Here is a video that I found about this.
I stumbled upon that video, and thats the one that I saw.
Not reading that, except what you quoted but it sounds simaler to the audio weapon that I saw on future weapons some time ago. Great for riot control o-o
It basically makes it so the sound (Somehow) travels in a straight line (more or less) rather then circular for a point. I don’t see how the sound would sound like it is coming from your own head, or even like a thought since it’s STILL sound.
IS it really any different then radio advertisement?
"Aw man, why would they do that??? Isn’t that the same as subliminal advertising? Could you get confused between your own thoughts and advertising thoughts? "
Well ASSUMING that it sounds as a thought and not )What I think it will sound like) an external sound. I doubt it would sound the same as your Ego’s voice.
I don’t like these types of advertisements, I know U.S.A’s economy runs on advertisements but we have enough as it is. No matter where you go people are trying to shove useless crud into your throats and it displeases me.
This is why I no longer watch TV, You can block ads on the internet.
I wouldn’t say that it’s the same. Radio advertisement is where you know where the sound is coming from and you know that it’s not your own thoughts. With this advertising you would just get confused and frustrated. If this advertising gets popular and gets all over the U.S. later in the years then I am leaving the country without a doubt.
I see this device quickly changing from advertising to something even more ridiculous.
To mind control ( which it already is more or less ) To be used as a weapon, torture device etc…
So since you’re not hearing the same way as you traditionally would, would you still hear it if you plugged your ears? That would be a major invasion of privacy if you couldn’t shut it out. Think of the brainwashing potential

hey open your eyes guys you know what MARK-IT-ING is ?
pretty lame and stupid i hope some people vandalize it and don’t get caught, and don’t hurt anyone
just in case anyone forgot industrial society destroys the body and mind we must be in harmony with nature and our inner selves and we must construct a world free of advertising idiocy so that our minds can breathe
…
This will be unlegalized soon i think , not on the argument of free will , but because of the annoyance it creates , and eventual medical risks…
i agree i don’t think people will put up with it
Well, one thing’s for certain: if these things pop up in my town, I’m going to make myself a few molotov cocktails and head out for a walk
I share those sentiments, Underscore.
Really now, this sort of thing makes me angry. I do not want advertisements whispering in my ear as I walk down the street at night telling me which soft drinks I should purchase. I doubt highly that any sane person would consent to this. The sanctity of individuals’ minds must be preserved.
They can put advertisements on bananas. They can put advertisements on third, second, and first base. They can put 15 minutes of advertisements before a movie I pay $12.50 for. But this…this is going too far. If it can be used for advertisement today, it can be used for other, perhaps more sinister things in the future. I don’t like where this is going.
Assuming it already hasn’t. It these companies found a way to do it, chances are someone else will have too.
