Can anyone hit me with some knowledge on tips to get lucid. Gotta dream journal, I reality check a lot. I count breathes when I go to bed, I have had a few lucid dreams but I’d like to try some more techniques…so what do yall do?
I’ve always stuck with MILD (setting the intention to dream as you fall asleep) myself. It’s relatively easy for beginners as well. Of course, most of my LD’s have been induced by reality checks anyway.
If you take a look around the forum you’ll see a bunch of different topics related to different LD techs. Ones you might look at if you haven’t otherwise are WBTB, WILD, VILD, CALD, and DEILD (a.k.a. chaining). Just put these terms into the site’s search engine and you’ll be set
How much dreams do you recall a night?
How much sleep do you get (approx.) each night?
Is there a night that you can dedicate to do a WBTB experiment?
For how long have you been trying to LD ?
What kind of Techniques did you already use?
Do you have DS - what are they?
Willing to help if you are willing to answer those questions
8 hours on average.
2 days to attemt WBTB friday and saturday nights
1 mild lucid dream
Have great dream journal
Remember at least on dream a night…up to 4 on different occassions I remember
Average of 1.5 I guess lol
Rc daily bi hourly
Multiple rc’s when I do check
Have experimented with wild for the past week.
Try DEILD on weekends.
Very interested in wild right now.
First of all - I am now trying to recover my ability to lucid dream aswell so we are in the same situation you and I - though I have some experience to share with ya of course.
You still haven’t answered the question - For how long have you been trying?
I knew I missed something.
For about 7 months now…had one then stopped trying…now trying to recover
You never stop being lucid when you really become a Lucid Dreamer.
What I mean is - your effort to do RC in wake life maybe wasted on merely looking at your clock/ pinching the nose technique and thats it.
We - as in herd - as in humans - tend to live our life as a ND - we are observers of our own destiny and work. We hardly are totaly lucid in our waking life and so how do we expect to be lucid while dreaming?
The first and the most important step we both must do is to throw that old life back to the garbage can and start living a lucid one. Meaning in other words - be aware of your enviroment. When you actually look at something - don’t “gaze” at it. LOOK at it. explore it. When you hear something - Listen to it; enjoy it. When you smell something - really smell it and enjoy it. Don’t just stop at getting to the goal effect of - “ok, its a cookie” (My wife is making some now hence the smell… that wonderfull one!!!) try to “analyze” it. It smells like youth - when I was a kid and mom used to make… etc…
When you start living this kind of full life - and it is full life - when you (oh… and me too!!!) achieve that full awareness in our waking life - You will enhance your ability to produce lucid life in your other realm - your Dream Walker realm (as I call it - everyone has his special nickname).
Lets make the first step - this crucial step - together for now. Try it out starting from now - remember the tips:
- Don’t allow your mind to “goal think” - its cookie. Analyze it.
- Don’t ignore life and run around your business - concentrate from time to time about your enviroment.
- Always be aware that you are walking you waking life and how it is responding to you.
- Don’t gaze - analyze , look . explore.
Hope you are willing to make this step together with me!
I’m down obi wan(I am a 22 year old buissness man that still loves starwars don’t hate) lol. Really though I have never been presented with that way of thought or life…it makes total sense. Do you post your dreams on line for accountability or what…how do you maintain this lifestyle…I know as humans we as you said tend to become herd like.what keeps you in the opposite field of the herd?
I am willing to come to that other side again j4.
The real question should be “Why do we always choose to be on the herd side?”
I posted my dreams to share.
Well I believe that following the info you’ve given will work! Already since this conversation I’ve started actually looking and hearing. I realize though that its not easy. But it will be easy with practice. I know practice doesn’t make perfect…only perfect practice makes perfect…so do you have any threads you can send me with a really in depth guide to lucid living? If not you seem to be great with advice so I will take a second serving
You said it yourself, bro. The Lucid Living topic. Not to mention you could look up Dream Yoga and Zen to expand on the concept
I want to join you guys I’ve had my share of lucid dreams but I still struggle with the level of lucidity, stability, length, etc. I belive that it is, as in many cases, about awareness. I’ve been interested in getting into lucid living but find it hard to remember to be aware
I know, it’s practice! So count me in too!
One thing I’ve been thinking, that I probably do “wrong” is I try to lucid live with the intention of getting better LD’s. I think I should focus on being more aware IWL and just let it naturally get into my dreams. Anyway, I’ll take a deeper look at the LL topic soon. We can do this!
WBTB seems to work with me. Reading or hearing stuff related to LDs also helps
Hey everyone!! I’m new here… You can call me Taylor or Turtle (my nickname)I Have had 1 lucid night… I had multiple lucid dreams, but for a short while… I will enter lucidity, for a short while though. I will do an RC, but cannot do anything such as fly, become invisible, or do anything I wouldn’t actually do or be able to do in reality. It is sooo frustrating!!
(Especially with an irritating dog and alarm clock…
) Does anyone have any tips on becoming lucid easier (I have tried MILD, and also WILD) and STAYING lucid?
Thank you all SO much for your help in advance!!
-Turtle
Looks like you are trying all there is to try. This forum is a great resource for lucid dreamers. Check out all the stickies. They are interesting. You will find all the information you need here. All you need to do is go on practicing till you go lucid. Wish you loads of luck.
sacrifice.
To stay in an LD, I would highly recommend you start rubbing your hands when the dream starts fading. If it fades to black, start spinning and try to picture a new dreamscape. Anything you can visualize can happen, and that goes for flying as well as maintaining the dream.
“Enhance lucidity now”
Auto-suggestions , spinning and concentrating on “new pics” , rubbing hands or generally " using more senses rather than just visual one" always helps if you set your goals and intentions correctly.
I, personally and when I had my Lucid period, used all the senses together by just sitting at my place touching the ground smell and taste it while expecting “tastes like chicken” or any other taste I want. After some moments it helps with the lucidity level and the dream goes on.
Another, fairly nice, tech is to create an immediate object - mirror and jump through it to another dreamscape.
This object must be known to you by heart and you must think of it before sleep - for ex. write down in your DJ about your pre-ordered object and describe it. describe how can you summon it “I just say Shazam and turn around and there it will be” or something.
My object is my space-ship that I call by beaming myself there. But don’t imitate - innovate Seriously, I can’t imitate my own object because it demands pretty high control to “beam” yourself (at least for me it does)
Have fun!
** Last tip - to prolong your LD even more - try to sleep more and do WILD/MILD so that your REM cycle will be at its peak.
Blucid, you opened my eyes. I now see my main problem when it comes to LDs.
I’m also in a comeback so I’d love to join all of you guys and try to adopt a lucid living style.
Love to help.
For now, I have some succesion with lucid living. I am able to find myself going “ant like” and stopping it from time to time. My dreams become more colorful because of this and I am getting closer to my first LD after a long time.
Aviran, Thanks for the THANK YOU
