I recently came across this technique while trying to WILD when I woke up at 6:30 a.m. It only works in late morning. Doesnt work in the middle of the night, doesnt work when youre going to sleep, only late morning. What you do is when youre up, just relax and go to sleep normally, but keep a really small part of your mind awake. This way, you get into a dream within 1 minute, but it generally is not very long or stable but VERY vivid. My friend who has just started LDing tried this and got results on his 1st night of trying. The dreams only last about 2 minutes thought, but I once had 6 LDs in one night with this method. Also, I noticed that whenever I use this method, I appear somewhere in my house, which is really cool. My friend said he appeared at his house too. Maybe coincidence, maybe not. Try this out and tell me what you think.
Wow Rubiks, that is awesome.
Im going to give it a try today.
Also, what time did you go to sleep, and generally how many hours should I sleep until I should wake up at 6.30?
Is it during sunrise or after sunrise?
Please be a bit more detailed.
Thanks
Well, generally I go to bed at around 11:00 p.m, and if it sais a.m does that mean after sunrise or during. Well, id say after. good luck
Looks like a great method. rubiks. I’m going to try it out. But will it take longer to succeed for people like me who takes a longer time to sleep? Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, maybe say 7 a.m. and I can’t go back to sleep anymore. I’ll give it a try though. Hope it works.
Mmmh. Kay.
I’ll give it a try today, but Im probably guessing that I’ll screw it up by waking up the wrong time lol.
This happened to me too!! I had about 2 or 3 of really short but extremely vivid LD’s just after I’ve closed my eyes.
Wow… thats pretty cool Gothic Fighters
Actually what you’re describing isn’t really a new technique. It’s just a description of what WILD means. You keep a part of your mind awake while you go to sleep.
How much people keep their minds awake actually varies with every individual. That’s why it says in most tutorials to WILD in the early morning, because you can easily drift to sleep and enter a dream within a minute (or even seconds!)
Actually, isn’t this some kind of DEILD?
DEILD’s are usually achieved during chaining, and probably happen a lot faster, though. They are a variation of WILD, so it’s kinda hard to draw a line.
But the way rubiks described his technique sounded very much like a regular WILD to me, since it took about a minute. I’m no WILD expert, though. There are so many variations. In the end what matters is that a technique works for someone.
I believe early morning in the best time for LDs, after a nice 5-6 hour rest period for the body. When attempting this early morning WILD + WBTB I end up somewhere in my house too. Weeeiird…
When you say “keep a small part of your mind awake”, do you mean your average counting breaths sort of thing?
Its kinda strange to describe. You keep brain activity to a minimum, so you dont count, you dont think, you just kind of keep a very small part of your brain awake, and very soon you will find yourself in a dream.
And Svenshinhan, normally when I WILD, I have very heavy brain activity; I keep on thinking about stuff, but when I do it like this, I go to dreamworld a lot faster.
This seems like the WILD rubiks is describing, simply from personal experience and I would have guessed it was the best way to describe it (in my opinion grins)… and, I always end up in my bedroom Sometimes I wake up several times and reenter the dreams almost immediately (lucky, they used to be really unstable, but now I can sort them out so I don’t wake up any more laughs), around 5 or 6 times, depending on when my mum and dad come and drag me out of bed grins
See, rubiks, you were saying you use heavy brain activity when WILDing? That never works for me, I suck at WILD that way, and have only been successful this way in any form of WILD, so, maybe WILD is just a general term for these several branching techniques?
This has happened to me with NDs before where I wake up in the morning and go back to sleep, but dream that I am getting ready for school or something, which usually leads to me being late.
Will try tomorrow, thanks.
yeah probably WILD is a term for this branch of techniques, but when I think of WILD I think of the way that I usually do it.
