No surprise element in LD's? :S

Title changed. Was: um, question??

When we talk about lucid dreams, we mean dreams in which we have almost, if not full, control of. am I right?? Ok, so if your mind is creating this dream, and you are aware of it, you obviously can take hold of it, and control your mind while you are sort of unconcious (sleeping). And in an LD you decide whrere you go, what you do, etdc. But then wouldn’t you be ablew to guess what would happen next? which would mean that there is no surprise element in LD’s. THis is just an issue I choose to bring up because in theory this is correct, but we all know that having LDs are exciting and full of mystery.
thankyou

There can certainly be surprise elements. For example, you can make a door, and ask the dream to make a new scene behind it. It would be made up by your subconscious and you wouldn’t consciously know what was coming…There is always a certain level of control, it can be very low or it can be almost total. For me, high-control dreams feels almost like telling myself a story and experiencing it as it is made.

oh ok  so your inner mind (the bit that creates the dream) transmits the information over a period of time (though obviously less than miliseconds) and so your mind is making the drwam before you actually get there. …or er, something like that

The most important element of an LD is the conscious element, being aware you are dreaming, and it’s up to you if you want to add little or much control to this awareness. If you consciously decide just to go with the flow without intervening, you could still be very lucid - aware of your dream state - without controling anything. And then, you could get a lot of surprises  Or you could choose total control, where the dream will unfold as you expect.

I never have complete full control over my enviroment (wouldn’t want it) - so I’m always supprised what happens next or where I find myself when I walk through a door etc. I’ve seen some pretty odd stuff, and it always takes me by supprise .
