Not being able?

Is it possible not to be able to have lucid dreams?

I think you’d probably have a hard time proving that it is “impossible” since for some people it takes great effort and the right approach and for others they are just naturals. I’m sure there are people who may try for a long time and never succeed but this doesn’t mean that its not possible, just that they may have taken the wrong approach.

Lucid dreaming is such a curious phenomena, and so many things can affect your success with it. For example I’ve read of people saying they “wanted it too badly” and never achieved it until stopping trying.

My personal opinion on the matter is that everyone has the ability to achieve lucid states of dreaming, even though I’ve only experienced it once, last night hah. And this didn’t last long at all. But really it’s all about taking the right approach which means way more then choosing the right method such as WILD/WBTB/MILD. It means accepting that lucidity is possible for yourself, wanting it and making it important to your subconscious by doing things such as keeping a dream journal doing daily reality checks, and simply keeping it on your mind. Really I tend to think the mind is capable of most anything if trained in the right approach.

for a period of time i thought it was definitely impossible for me to lucid dream, until one night i had my first lucid dream. it was only about 10 seconds though
