Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the most important things when it comes to lucid dreaming. The more rested you are, the more you remember your dream. Also, if you sleep longer, you will probably have more dreams anyway.
IMO, I think it’s feeling that you will remember your dream in five minutes which kills your dream recall…
I was just too tired to get my ass out of bed the first time I woke up, and by the time I fell asleep and woke up a minute later, poof. All I know is that the dream had something to do with technology - computers - and numbers…
Yeah, enough sleep makes remembering dreams easier. One of the reasons is the fact that you dream more the more you sleep. However, I have remembered some dreams after sleeping only about three hours.
I also have my dream journal right beside my bed so that I don’t have to get up in order to write my dreams down. It is said that it’d be best if you didn’t move at all after awakening, but sometimes I wake up so drowsy that I have to sit up a bit so that I wouldn’t fall back asleep right away.
