Not working yet

Hi everyone
For my first post on LD4all I would like to put in an observation. I joined this site a couple of days and was reading up on how to get LD’s and I decided that WILD would be easiest for me. Hasn’t exactly worked yet but I’ve noticed it is making me remember a lot more of my dreams. I’ve been having clear, vivid, easily remembered (though disappointingly non lucid) dreams for the past week. Is it a sign I am getting close. The unintentional LD’s i’ve had in the past didn’t last very long and I didn’t get to do anything fun in them so I wouldn’t mind a few pointers. I cant believe such a massive forum exists that is devoted entirely to lucid dreams. :grin:

Hi Harkell, welcome to the forum!

If you tried WILD for a couple of days, that doesn’t yet say anything. First of all you have to spend more time on it, lets say a month of nightly trying, and second, doing WILD without WBTB is very hard (not impossible though). So my advice would be, stick at it and if you can, try it with WBTB. Just wake during the night and go for WILD immediately. Good luck :smile:.

Agreeing with Xetrov and adding that I dont do WBTB. WILD is my main technique but to be honest i cant really be bothered with WBTB and so far Im satisfied with the results. There are many reasons for that. But the main one, which i think is most important, is that you need to prepare your mind for it. Have no doubt. Mind is a terrible enemy if you want to WILD. Secondly, keep focus. I cannot stress this enough. That said, dont focus so much that you cant even sleep. Focus, yet feel your body going to sleep. Count ur breathing, visualise walking down stairs while counting each step. Tap ur fingers and count. Dont lose focus. And if you find that you cant get it, then just take a break. That is what i do. Sometimes i try and i just dont feel right. So i change sides and go to sleep :tongue: . Dont stress :smile:[/color]

I can see what you guys mean. I have been getting no such feeling as being able to “step into a dream” and have trouble keeping focus. The LD I had last night must have been a fluke.

I was walking through my schoolyard (even though it’s the holidays) cursing myself for missing the bus (common dream theme) when suddenly I was walking around my old house (which of course didn’t seem strange at all) looking for something when suddenly I thought “reality check” I did a double take and instantly realized I was dreaming. I tried spinning around but the dream soon dissapated. :cry: I’ll start doing WBTB next weekend. Even though it is still Sunday but my alarm clock cant do multiple times and when I sleep in I really go to town. :sad:

Sirius : Ive been doin the same , a wasted month :cry: or more :cry: . But hey , things happen , and it would be avesome to do that !
Harkell: 1. You may use youre mobile telephone my sound of alarm on mine is so alarming me now that i almost doesnt manage top have it on without turning it off immediately … :content:
2. When you wake up , you may chage the time on youre clock.
3. (simply) buying a new clock

At what time of the day do you try WILD?? It is very hard to do in the evning. You should have atleast 3 hours of sleep before attempting WILD, if you want to have the biggest chance of succeeding. Early morning works best for me…

just remember champ, no ld is ever a fluke. Ever. Lds come with practice skill drive and determination, sometimes we think we are not doing a thing but our SC is going crazy. It takes time to do all that you want tho, crawl before you walk and walk before you run, other wise you will just fall flat on your face and feel even more discourraged… trust me :wink:

Finally the weekend now I can try WBTB without being late for school. Goodnight everyone.

ALLRIGHT!!!. Worked perfectly. Set my alarm clock to one o’clock and a couple hours later I was running through this maze which strangely resembled a bathroom with urinals and washtubs everywhere along the wall with some deranged guy running along behind me. I came to a dead end and prepared to be captured or killed when I peeked around the corner. The deranged guy was pouring some sort of powder on the floor. “Strange” I thought. Then I realised I was dreaming. I whipped around the corner to face the guy and threw a couple of those stupid slow motion dream punches. “Crap” I thought. Then I thought “I know” and blasted him through the wall in slow motion like one those action movie scenes with Super Psychic Dream Power. Then I woke up.

My coolest lucid dream to date and my third since I started counting about two weeks back.
