On a scale, 1-10, how much does Lucidity play a role in your life. Do you like to toy with the idea? Do you document every dream? Succeed every night? Let the topic breeze over? Immerse yourself in it completely?
For me, this… umm well new found “gift” has subtracted me from the waking world. I feel as if the greatest secret was shared with me. A certain burden to share exist. When I sum up the topic and remind myself
“Our conscious disconnects from our body traveling to distant dimensions where thoughts are brought to life instantaneously all while our body lies in a dormant state of deep recovery and relaxation from the world of sensory input and perceptions.”
It sounds to crazy to believe. Even crazier to be true. When I add in God to the design of it all, I fall to my knees in awe of the mightiest creation, the human mind. Imagine a world virtually indistinguishable, where you, the participant, or in complete control of literally every aspect of your existence for a repetitive 8 hour period. It’s like a magical coma that separates the days from one another. So amazing.
So the topic is this, how do you feel about lucid dreaming. “Just another hobby?”
Or maybe quite possibly… “the lost forgotten path to a supreme intelligence; God/Allah/Nirvana”
On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 4 for me. I’d love to lucid dream every night, alternately programming my own cranial Holodeck purely for entertainment and opening myself up to the wisdom of the subconscious if not the spirit world… but I don’t get upset that I haven’t been able to do that so far. There are many other things I can entertain/educate/enlighten myself with, many paths to many destinations if you will. It’s just that I’m not doing anything else while I’m sleeping so I’d somewhat like to take that time back. Yeah, I’d say just another hobby.
I think that it is pretty much impossible for LDing to become a hobby. For me LDing would be 3 at the moment, but only cause school recently started it will probaly go back to 5 or 6 soon.
I aspire to someday master the art of lucid dreaming.
I also plan to keep track of my dreams from now until the end of time (last two times I got into LD’ing I only bothered for a month or two).
Still, it doesn’t rank that highly for me. I think about it quite a bit, but it’s not an obsession by any means and I’m not letting any of my other hobbies suffer for it either. So I’d guess it’s about a 4 on the scale for me. I look forward to getting lucid dreams at night, but during the day I mostly focus on other things.
Haven’t had a LD yet, but I’m still in awe about this entire community.
The fact that people say, “I’ll try it in my dream tonight.” It gives me an awesome feeling. It makes me feel like they’re going into an alternate world, but really it’s just their head… which is an entire different world.
I like lucid dreaming. It’s fun, intresting and unusuall. I talk about it pretty much every day, so it’s more than a hobby. Man, I even dream about lucid dreaming
So I’d give it… 8!
I have to agree with wond3rland. I too feel as if I have been given this amazing gift. Lucid Dreaming has opened my mind to so many possibilities it as shown me that there are no limitations other then the ones we put on ourselves. It seems to be one more step in my journey to understanding that is constantly unfolding before me. The Tibetan Yogas have said that LDing is one of the steps to enlightenment. I believe LDing has brought me to a world that any and all things can be explained with in. I too am in Awe of the possibilities and the sense of awareness LDs hold. I feel that others that have not had the amazing experience of LDing are missing out on something big and I hope that everyone gets to experience it at some point in their lives. So I would say LDing is a 10 in my world even if there are times when I’m not as focused it’s always on my mind and has brought such a joy to my life that it can never be anything less then a 10.
I felt the exact same thing when I got into LD’ing. I’ve literally, in a few LD’s, fallen to my knees and weeped just because the sun was pretty in the sky (or something “simple” like that) Lucid Dreaming is so… magical to me. It made me see the world in a totally different way.
It’s a 10 for me! (and I won’t rest until I’ve mastered it! )
LD’ing ranks pretty low for me at the moment. Real life has taken up a lot of my concentration. But I’m giving it a bit more attention again. Hopefully any small successes I achieve will encourage me to keep practicing.
I completely agree with your views on Lucid Dreaming.
If I could master Lucid Dreaming, then I would defenitely say it’s a hobby. Maybe one day I will. Who knows? The point is that Lucid Dreaming takes away every worry or discomfert I’ve ever felt. It changed the way I see the world. I’ve had a rough past for only being so young, and a lot of those emotions stuck with me. But knowing that I have something this amazing and magical, gives me hope. That’s the best I can do to explain what Lucid Dreaming means to me.
To put a number on it, I would say 9 or 10. Why so high? Because it’s constantly on my mind. Just wondering when I’ll fully enter the world where all my wildest dreams can come true. Cheesy, I know.
i would have to say a 9/10 for me, possibly 10/10, my lucid world is my escape from all the rules, laws, and drama of everyday life
when i first saw it, i felt how you do, like the greatest secret of all was sitting right there your whole life, and youve never even thought about it.
its on my mind everyday
i absolutely cannot see how people go a day of thier lives without having a lucid dream.
It is on the believers to share. Spread the waking life benefits. Clean up your image or tarnished past. Every day after a Lucid Adventure makes the world seem new again. Like I just got back… or something. My energy level is dramatically altered after a Lucid state. It is a 10 for me. Higher if I allowed it, somewhere around a 99. Mowing the lawn seems magical now. I look at football players in awe, “Running back and forth for padded collisions,” and I laugh… hysterically out loud. "Who could pick ANY ‘everyday’ activity or hobby over this Lucid Dreaming, our own personal dimension. 8 Hrs of sleep/24 Hr. Day = 30 Yrs of Wond3rland/90 Yr life-span.
Lucid Dreaming COMPLETES God’s design for a purpose filled life of joy and ultimate freedoms.
I love dreaming in general. Every morning, I wake up twice. If I go to bed around 1-2a.m., I awake between 4-6 and think about my first series of dreams, and then awake again between 9-12 (depending on class schedule, etc) and think over all the dreams I can remember.
It’s a bonus when there’s lucid dreams as well thrown into the mix. I love analyzing those and recalling the sights (usually the skies), what I did, what reality checks I went through, and what I chose to experience. It’s a real fun way to examine your subconsciousness and ultimately yourself. (I’ve been getting 2-4 LDs a week lately, I’m on a hot streak)
Every night before bed I browse forums and read about dreaming. So I guess it’s a pretty big hobby in my life at the moment (I’ve been bored a lot lately, but this helps).
For me it would be about a 7 cause I have school to deal with and things in my waking life. I use lucid dreaming as an escape from all the stress and annoying stuff in my life. And In my opinion lucid dreaming is the most amazing thing that there is in this world. Other than god obviously cause I’m a christian.
