Last night something happened - not long after lying down to sleep I started hearing a low rumbling, I saw nothing but blackness and became paralyzed, the rumbling increased VERY loud, freight train or tornado inside my head, I suddenly had thoughts that I was dying. I had the internal feeling that something was approaching (an event unrelated to the increasing noise), but my thoughts of dying took hold and with this… everything faded away and I awoke. I now regret my fear, and am curious if I was on the edge.
Also curious if anyone has an idea of how long, in waking time, a LD lasts… does waking time stop? I’ve had normal dreams that seemed like hours only to wake and see that only a minute has lapsed.
Yeup, that was just SP. It happens to you everytime you go to sleep, but in this instance you were still concious while it was happening.
It can be used to enter LD’s.
For your other question, dream time and real time is exactly the same. Dreams lasting a day/week/month/whatever are usually done like in movies - it skips out the boring bits (going to bed, washing, eating, toliet etc).
To make it seem more seemless though, the dream may add in ‘false memories’ in which you get the impression you’ve been doing something, when in reality you hadn’t (eg. you’d think that you’d just been working - but you hadn’t really. If you actually thought back, you’d have no memory of doing the work).
