Pain and Dreams

CAUTION- Some gore involved. Not detailed, but still there.

Not nessescarily related to pain, but last night I had a lucid dream. At some point in the dream, I was playing around by practicing shapeshifting and such. I ended up in a relatively small, plain, brown room with some guy in a green shirt and pants that matched the room. He was in my way somehow and/or had interrupted me while I was tranforming into a cobra, and being of strangely animalistic temperment at the time, I ripped him cleanly in half.

It wasn’t bloody and wasn’t accurate, as in the detail, but I felt my stomach turn over as though ripping his stomach somehow affected mine.

I have used a sharp skin pinch as a RT for many years, and I have never once felt during a dream anything like the acute pain one experiences when awake. Sometimes in ND something happens which one would expect to produce pain, but my own experience is that the dreamed sensation, though distressing, does not have the quality of waking pain. BUT it is definitely possible to experience severe pain in dreams, when that pain actually arises from the body during sleep. I was stung by a wasp one night not so long ago, and the pain was incorporated very convincingly into my ongoing ND.

The only pain I remember in a dream is being shot and what happens is It becomes cold and I smash loudly on the ground.

never tried this, but i guess it goes different from one person to another. but mainly, i dont think you’ll be able to feel REALLY hard pain in a dream, cuase your sub-conscious doesnt want you too. but i guess that if youll try hard enough youll feel it…

In my dreams I never really experience pain. It seems whenever it might happen I am pulled away from it or whatever was supposed to happen messes up. Maybe its my spirit guide but the weird thing is I have no idea who or what my spirit guide is, I’m going to try and focus in my dreams and see if I can find or know who my spirit guide is.

Recently, a dreamer from another forum tried to experience very vivid and realistic sensations in dreams and focused on pain. Unhappily, he got good results… :gni: Now, he is afraid of having lucid dreams, and cried for help…

As your dreams are what you believe, if you believe you can experience pain in dreams, you can. In my opinion it’s not a very interesting experiment indeed.

A longe time ago (some years) I dreamed that I were a knight eatend by a gigantik rock, eating packman. :wolfbite:
Some seconds after my awakning I cult feel a pain were it had bitten me.

That happend too me in one of my lucid dreams I were going too fly so I jummped of a cliffe.
I werent abell and fellt into the hard grund and the dream ended.

I tried stinging my finger with a needle in a LD a while ago, but the dream was neither very lucid nor very vivid, and I didn’t feel anything. It did start to bleed, though.
