Part of a technique, or not?

Lately I’ve been trying to end a dry spell by using reality checks, MILD, WBTB and WILD all together. It worked last night and I had two in a row and almost a DEILD.

In one of them, though, I just knew I was dreaming. I wasn’t conscious of my desire to lucid dream, didn’t remember a mantra, didn’t do any reality checks or observe anything that would tell me I’m dreaming. I hadn’t entered it from sleep paralysis or hallucinations or anything either.

This has happened a few times before as well. Is this part of one of the techniques I was using, or something else?

If you’ve been thinking a lot about lucid dreaming, it can spill over into your dreams. Eventually you just get to the point when you can recognize that you are dreaming without any other help (DILD). In fact, the ultimate goal of Lucid Living is to get you to the point that you simply know all the time like the dream you described above.
