I was wondering what the best perspective for imagining is for inducing an LD through a waking initiated lucid dream, for example when imagining your ‘dream hand’ comeing out of your body in a WILD, would u imagine it as your actual hand, or would you picture the hand from a 3rd person view in your minds eye, you could also imagine it as a new hand. There are loads of perspectives for picturing things etc. so which is the most effective?
Yeah, I picture it as my own hand as well. However, I think it’s important to “feel” the hand as well as visualize it, as this helps your brain to be more focused.
I think it depends on whether you’re trying to induce an OOBE (which I consider to be just a special sort of WILD, but many disagree) or just a regular WILD. Since you haven’t specified which, I’ll cover both.
If you’re trying to induce an OOBE, I would suggest imagining the hand in first person. Although it’s different for everyone, that’s what I’ve come closest to success with, and it’s what I’ve heard a lot of other dreamers report as being most effective. However, you may want to try both, just for the sake of experimentation; after all, no two people are alike.
If you’re trying to induce a plain WILD, you need not be limited to just imagining your hand leaving your body; a lot of WILDers simply allow their minds to wander, as they’ll begin to imagine a dream scene, while similtainiously paying as little attention as possible to outside sensory input and instead focusing on sensory input from their dream-to-be.
If you have more questions, I’d suggest perusing The BIG WILD Topic, as there’s already been a lot of discussion there along these lines. If that still doesn’t answer your questions, a Google search should put things in order.
