Possibily My First LD? You decide

So last night i was watching this video, youtube.com/watch?v=I-ayY0enxLQ
and if you dont want to watch it basically it says to get a dream journal and right down your dreams as you remember them .Before bed say “Im going to Remember my dreams”. Look For Common Themes, and look at your hand throughout the day for a RC. So as im in bed i say, “Im going to remember my dreams” “Im going to Lucid Dream” and “When i see my school i will know im dreaming”. So this is my dream.

Im in my school lunchroom for breakfast and idk why but there selling oreo type cookies. I then go to the band room. In the band room, i say to myself, “im not supposed to be in school today,i must be dreaming” and at the time i felt a weird feeling and i did start to spin around. Now I did feel like i had control over what i said and did, but the dream wasent much more vivid then a normal dream.

Also i did wake up in the middle of the night mabye 3 times, but did not remember my dreams really.

So idk hopefully it was a real lucid dream. And not a fake one.

I think you definetly had a Lucid Dream. It might have not been a vivid or lasting one, but I would say it was a LD. Most first dreams aren’t usually very vivid, but with experience they become more vivid.

You said you woke up like 3 times at night. I think you had 3 False Awakenings instead, which usually occur when you use suggestion to get DILD. It’s a good thing to remember doing a RC every time you wake up, so you can separate the FA s from Real wakenings.

My first lucid dream was pretty much the same. I got a random thing where I noticed I was dreaming but didn’t take really much control of it. Then I woke up into several FA s.

Thanks for your response. Now would it still be a FA if i rolled rolled over in bed and went back to sleep? Also i have a question about dream characters. Is their anyway to make dream characters look as they do in real life or will they always look different?

Yep. Sound like a lucid dream to me. Congratulations!
First lucid dreams can be very short and not very vivid, so with practice your LDs will get better and better. Your DC question probably has to do with this too. The better you get at having LDs, the more lucid you get and the more vivid the dream is, the DCs will probably look more like real life. Although I don’t say this from experience

And I think that rolling over and faling asleep again can be a FA. I’ve had one were I woke up, wrote down a few notes about a dream and went back to sleep. When I got up in the morning there were no notes!

Thanks for your response. Lol the note thing is pretty funny.

Yeah it sounds like a ludic dream. I don’t usually see things like that, Oh, theres no school, its martin luther king day, or whatever, I usually use IMPOSSIBLE things to make me lucid. Like 2 of the same person, or I’m a black guy.

If you knew you were dreaming, you were lucid! On some level, at least. Now it’s just a matter of developing the ability to recognize your dreams for what they are consistently. It’ll get easier over time as you learn to discern between real life and dreams, despite the apparent similarities.

thanks everyone.
