possible new LD technique I've been trying to reproduce...

I had a lucid dream about a week ago, and when I fell asleep (after a very brief, unintentional WBTB) I noticed that when I was falling asleep and my body was getting more and more relaxed, I just payed attention to the state of comfort I was in. I would become more and more and more relaxed, and every time I did, I just thought/payed attention to my body and how relaxed I felt.

Eventually it felt like I wasn’t asleep at all, but was just laying there awake. It felt like this for a long time (probably felt longer than it was, because I was actually asleep at this point), and then I slipped into a dream where I did I random RC and became lucid. when I awoke, I had only been sleeping for 1 hour (Which is strange, because I learned here that you only have a REM cycle once every 90 minutes).

The wbtb was very short and unfocused - I got up, took a piss, layed back down, masterbated (Haha, I know, Might be more information than you need, but EH - it could have contributed in some way), thought about just getting up and having some breakfast (and decided to sleep more) and fell asleep (as described above). I woke up about an hour to 2 hours early - I had slept for about 7 to 8 hours (I went to bed at around ten and woke at about 6:30).

If I can actively recreate this technique again, I’d use it every time (if it was affective), because it’s more comfortable than any other technique I’ve tried - I just fall asleep normally, but remember to stay comfortably aware of my comfort level (heh, sounds a bit weird).

Anyone want to give it a try?

What’s the difference to this and WILD?
I think i’ve tried something similar, but I could’nt control the dream (it was only seeing and hearing, like a film).

i’ve experienced some of those feelings, but it’s very hard for me to maintain consciousness! It’s like being aware of my thoughts. I can’t do that for a long time, not even for a short time, i just have instant moments and then i just continue drifting…
The same with HI. I try to control them and rub my hands. If i’m rubbing my hands i will probably start thinking about something related to “rubbing” or “hands” or something like that…

This has nothing whatso ever to do with identifying the point between awake and sleep, has nothing to do with HI, nothing to do with phosphene focusing.

How IS this like WILD?

The thing about staying concious when falling asleep?
I’ve always belivied that was the big point with WILD…

The big point about WILD is (or so I understand) identifying HI and basically stepping into a dream.

WILD= CONCENTRATION
MILD= AUTO-SUGESSTION
WBTB= ALERTNESS
SUNEYE=MIND CLEARING

WILD means Wake Induced Lucid Dream, so it’s the generic term for all the methods you try and fall asleep consciously with. On the other hand, DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) groups together all the methods in which you realize, from a ND, that you’re dreaming.
So your method is one of the numerous WILD methods. Paying attention to your well-being relaxed state is a rather new WILD method, though. I never heard about something like that before… :wink:

You mean you rubbed your nose? A new RC?

uh…

dictionary.reference.com/search? … asturbated

:bored:

Does masturbation decrease the chance of getting lucid “squakMix”?

Common, I just like your avatar.

Aparrently not in my case.

Oh, and how many times do you mast. per hour? jk :grin:

read this prolly last week!
'cause i remember reading it a while ago and i didn’t remember you mentioning “last week” nor the text beeing disposed that way!
so have you succeeded recreating this kinda WILD (in both ways - LOL) technique? it seems a lot like first experience with WILD! :cry:
:content:

lol :happy: Nice touch!

ROFL!!:rofl:

wtf? :eh:

It’s a new Gonzo’s RC: you are dreaming if your nose hardens when you rub it.
