I have had a few lucid dreams before I found this site, before i even knew it was possible to do it intentionally, and had always experimented with doing certain things, but one thing that never seems to work correctly is summoning items.
Last night I had my first intentional LD where I did a RC for no reason at all and realised I was in a dream. I had a few awakenings but whenever I went back to sleep i managed to get back into a LD. Anyway in one of the dreams I decided to try summoning items and a samurai sword was the first thing to pop into my head. But when I actually summoned it, i noticed it was incredibly short, a foot long at best, so i waved my hand over it and instructed it to get longer, and it did. When i was satisfied with the length i tried swinging it and for some reason it was incredibly floppy as if it was made of paper, although i still managed to slice somebody with it, using it like a whip.
After that I tried summoning an AK 47 but nothing happened, so i remembered reading on here that sometimes it’s easier to tell yourself that something is in your pocket, so I told myself there would be an M9 in my jacket when i reached in, but nothing happened then either. I woke up shortly after that and I was slightly disappointed.
So long story short, I have trouble creating/summoning in LDs and even if i do manage it, it ends up going wrong anyway. Anyone got any tips or techniques to help me with this?
I have trouble summoning anything. I tried summoning a DC that looked like my friend but they were like a statue and didn’t do anything when i spoke to them. Annoying
When you expect something to happen in a dream, it has a higher chance of happening. When you have even the slightest doubt that something will happen, most of the time it won’t, or it will not work properly (depending on what you want to do).
For example, a few nights ago I had a lucid dream where I tried to fly like Superman, but it didn’t work. In the same dream, somebody was parking a car. I also tried to ‘expect’ that person to be a female, and I had a small doubt of the person being a female. It turned out to be a male.
Also, one of the things to do IRL that might help is to constantly imagine you realizing you’re in a dream and trying to do what you want to do. This will most likely help you over time, because your dreams are created by your imagination. However, sometimes the dream will “have it’s limits”. In other words, depending on the dream’s context, you might or might not be able to do what you want to do.
Another example is from one that happened last night. Because I’ve been frequently and constantly imagining trying to fly by “being pushed up from supernatural force” from my feet, I learned a cool technique to levitate, which will hopefully be used in future dreams with one of my flying techniques. But because I failed to stabilize the dream properly, it faded very quickly.
I have this same problem - Not being able to create something.
I only seem to be able to work with what the dream gives me.
For example, if I close my eyes in a dream, it’s almost guarenteed I will wake up…
I one time tried to make a green apple by putting my hands behind my back and imagining it, but that technique failed.
i think the most important thing is to believe that will apear. which is hard because in real life we dont really have the ability to make things appear by thinking of it or saying let it be here.
also people find it easier when thay do one of these things.
like you mentioned pull it out of your pocket
2.say to yourself it will be behind this door, then walk through the door
3.same as above just around a corner
4.same as above but behind you and turn around
5.same as above but close your eyes say it will be their and then open them
