Ever since I’ve started lucid dreaming last spring my main problem has been staying in the dream once I become lucid. I always prematurly awaken . People have told me that lds get longer as you get more experience. I’ve become lucid around 50 times since I began and I still can’t get over this problem. Can anyone give me some good advice who’s overcome this same problem?
Dont do things that excite you. That means no sex:(Dont try few things at once.Generally- stay away from things that can took your mind off the dream…things emotionall.
You may try just exploring the lucid world- looking around, paying attention to details, smelling, tasting…etc.Keep it simple as possibile,i guess thats the best way of getting familiar with the lucidity.
good luck:)
Just take it slow. Get into the habit of strengthening the dream for a minute before you run off and start having fun. When I find myself lucid, the first thing I do is stand still and carefully examine my surroundings until I’m satisfied the world is clear and vivid enough to support the dream for at least a while. Every so often I might have to stop what I’m doing and repeat this process, especially if I notice the world darkening or blurring. I’m confident that this becomes less important as you subconscious learn to handle the world automatically.
Sometimes you just won’t be able to stop yourself waking up, especially if some distraction from real life is interfering with the dream. For the most part though, it’s just a matter of standing still, and focusing on enhancing your grip on the world. That doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in some of the more … intensive fantasies you’re likely to have – just take it slow at first.
Oh, sex is fine. You just mustn’t haste. Take your time. Like Atheist said: observe your surroundings. Try putting your hand into the wall or rubbing hands. After you’ll be lucid for at least a minute, experiment to make dreams more vivid.
can someone please tell me what i should do when everything starts to fade and go black , which happens too often
( this is what happens as im waking up from the LD)
Rub your hands… feel how detailed it is. Feel how it is warming your hands because of its friction. When you get more of it, you might also want to spin and say, “I’m still dreaming. The dreamscape will appear…”
And don’t ever close your dream eyes. >_< That’s the key of premature awakenings.
Good luck!
Got to try the spinning one, but everytime i rub my hands as it fades i end up back in my house, probably because i know i’m in bed asleep.
How long should you WILD while in this state? i’ve tried for about 10 seconds before i openend my eyes and got a wallpaper in a room in my house that remotely resembled the dreamscape i was thinking of.
Thanks DM7
i’ll remember that next time the dream fades … ( hopefuly)
I have about the same problem that I seem to be able to concentrate on one area around my feet then I start working outwards and it helps brings back into focus for me
The problem I have with this is if I miss I have a false awakening then sometimes I can have up to 5 or 6 before I actually wake up … is there something wrong with me or is it normal to have so many false awakenings in a row almost every time ??
