Question..

Lol, hey peoples.

I’m REALLY new to lucid dreaming and all, so I know no terms or anything except the basics.

Anyway, I have a question…

What’s the easiest way to become lucid?

Oh! Another one.

And can you have dreams based on your thoughts before bed/what you’re staring at?

Say… if you’re thinking about phantoms and such… Would you have dreams about phantoms?

And if you stare at a poster of Robert Englund, would you have dreams about Robert Englund?

welcome to ld4all

It’s hard to say what the easiest way to get lucid is because it depends on the person. One technique may work the first time with one person and never with another! People usually try to start out with MILD, or perhaps FILD (there are some tutorials on these techniques in the knoledge database section of the forum).

But some basic things also can be done, like keeping a DJ to increase your DR or doing RC’s (sorry for all the letters  just leave your mouse over the names and you’ll get a short description).

There are ways to incubate dreams, that is, program yourself to dream about something specific. I haven’t tried much of this, but maybe looking at an object and doing some autosuggestion can help (like thinking in your head “I will dream with [whatever]” a few times until your SC gets the message).

Cool, okay, thx!

I was like, “Darn it, Destler, stay outta my dreams.”

Kinda the opposite, though… I ended up dreaming about him, thought. headdesk

I find that being as aware as possible during the day and doing plenty of reality checks works quite well for me. I think its also pretty important to reprogram your SC so that it treats LD as important and ‘easy to do’. I use a sort of lucid dream induction cd before i go to bed which send subliminal messages etc… my dreams have certainly become more interesting even when i don’t get lucid! :spinning:

Lol, Freddy Krueger xD
And about induction techniques, what the posters above said.
