So, I know now that especially when you jsut start, it is very important to set your mind to one or two specific things you want to do. Now, I also hear this is because in the dream you cannot think of what to do? That seems wierd to me. You know its a dream, you are in control, but you cannot think clearly enough to get ideas?Just want a lil explination.

Next question, how long on average do you haver a lucid dream? For some I hear only seconds, for others I hear minutes. I assume once you get more used to it and expirienced you can last lnoger, but just wondering.

Last but not least, what do ya reccomend I focus on for my first lucid dream? I do not recall ever having one ever, or having the realization its a dream ever.

Thanks in advance.

Well, it’s a little more complicated than that. You do realize you’re dreaming, yet there are different degrees of lucidity. Depending on how lucid you are, it may be harder for you to think clearly and control your dream. With practice, the ability to increase your lucidity gets better

This is true, with more experience, you can make your lucid dreams last longer. When I first began I used to have lucid dreams that were all about one minute long. With more experience, they increased to ten, and then to twenty minutes long. Some people can have lucid dreams that are over 40 minutes long!

It’s a good idea to have a simple goal to perform in your lucid dream, because it helps give you a reason to maintain your lucidity. For a beginner, I’d recommend a simple goal, such as looking at your hands, of flying
After you get really good at this you can go on adventured and quests in your dreams

Well put Josh, I defenitley agree with the expereince increasing lucidity time. I first started out at like less than 10 seconds. And i got really frustrated, but when i got back to LD’ing, i was able to get better. I have like 6-7 minute LD’s now. Sometimes longer.

Thanks for the quick replies. Much appreciated.
