I had this crazy idea earlier,
I decided the other day that I was going to quit smoking and decided that monday, tommorow, was gonna be the day.
So today as i was thinking about it i decided to try and RC everytime I wanted a cigarette and then when I wanted a cigarette in a dream, yes I even smoke in my dreams
, I would do an RC and become lucid. Kinda killin two birds with one stone.
The only thing that worries me is that instead of doing an RC in my dream I will just light a cigarette.
Has anyone tried this? Anyone have something to add? Im open to suggestions.
Sounds like a plan. You should add to your resolution that if you catch yourself smoking you should RC. It’s no problem if you smoke in a dream. In fact I didn’t use to smoke in my dreams very often. But more often since I quit. I have read that people who are quitting smoking have more REM sleep as well. I guess one could possibly take advantage of that if it is a significant increase.
do you have a link to any of that research that people who are quitting smoaking have more rem i would be interested to read that.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am definately putting them into practice immediately. You are definately right Timeless, I need to get my mindset right for this to work.
Also, I tried to find some research on the REM sleep/recently quit smokers but all I could find were studies showing that the relationship was people complaining about sleep disturbances. I guess ones persons sleep “disturbance” could be another persons journal time. But there is also a TON of research out there on this so I may have just not come across it yet.
