i just had a ld. the problem was, in de middel i thougth "hey, this could be a ld. do an rc. first: the first two times it didn’t work. the thrid time it worked. then i tried do do something, but the dream began to get cloudly, blurry (i don’t no the exact word. i red, that you should look at your hands and rub (?) your hands and try to focus on the warmth and the feeling you get. i tryed it but the dream became even more unclear, then i was thinking “hmm am i still dreaming?” after that the dream was gone, vanished (whatever, translationproblems again ) and i think i became awake awhile (very short and i’m not really sure)
how can i ensure that an rc works? or how can i practice that rc’s work better? change my rc? (1. rc: try to breath through your nose while you hold your nose. 2. rc: look at my hands, and if they change their apperance, i’m dreaming. the 1st is my favourite.)
why did the dream become blurry and finally disappeared at all? how can i prevent that form happening?
You can’t ensure that a RC will work. Some RC’s are statistically better, like the nose RC you’re using, but you have to find a set of RC’s that will work well for you. Working well doesn’t necessary mean that it gives the expected result, it means that it makes you lucid.
When you perform the RC during daylife, you first have to question reality, wondering if you’re dreaming or not. Then before doing the RC, you’ve to expect it will work. Don’t perform RC’s automatically but try to do them consciously.
Dreams may become blurry. Now I’m unsure what happen to you though, if you lost visuals or if you lost lucidity (you said you were wondering again if it was still a dream).
When the dream becomes transparent, you can move a lot in it to resolidify it (running, jumping, etc.). You can also spin or suddenly let you fall on your back.
When you completely lose visuals, then rubbing your hands is theorically a good way of waiting until the dream reappear. You can also try to grab something, etc. As you lose visuals, the technique consists in replacing this lost sense by another sense (generally the touch) until the visuals come back.
Now, if you lose lucidity, then you can perform another RC or stare at your hands.
Exactly what Sabre said. Also, I have found that if you do more than 1 RC (which you did well) and vary them, mmore likely than not, 1 will work. IE: I ususaly do a nose RC (Pinch it closed and breathe) then look at my nose with one eye, then look at my hands. If none of those work, and I still feel it could be a dream, I’ll pinch my nose again.
Again, what Sabre said. Just stand still, look at something still stable, and focus on the dream and staying asleep. I have found when a dream becomes unstable, closing your eyes is the worst thing to do (for me atleast). Also, don’t question whether you are asleep or not, just KNOW it.
first i did something that i can just do wenn i’m dreaming. but this didn’t make me wonder if i’m dreaming. a bit later i saw something stragen and i asked my self am i dreaming? the person that i wantet to stop do what he was doing said “no you are not dreaming! this is real” and i said “hmm ok” but than i was sure that i’m dreaming. i don’t know why. i startet flying. after that i made an rc (strage that i first fyl throught the air and after that i don a rc) i said to him i was thinking that i can tell him he should disappear, but i didn’t have to tell him that. he disappeared before i could command him. than the dream became blurry.
i rememberd, that i should look at something and try to focus, so that it becomes clearer. but the first object (and stonetabel) didn’t became clear. than i started to look at a flower. i looked at it very closely, and than, i realized, that ich was looking at a picture. it was a drawn. so it could’t become clearer because ist was just a picture. when i noticed that, i had a false awaking. i was looking at the picture of this drawn flower at my laptop. it was unclear, but the laptop and the table were very real. i was thinking "hmm i must be fallen asleep when i was dooing something on my computer… this is strange! when i’m tired, i always go to bed, so i can’t be fallen asleep in front of my computer.
after i had this thought, i had again a fake awaking in my bed. i heared to friends of mine (they are living in the same house, just a few meters away from me). they were talking, that it was stupid, that i try to becom ld’s. they normally do this so i thougth i was awake. but this was wrong again, but i didn’t found that out. i laid in my bed and watched a spinder in my room. afer that i awoke really.
questions: why didn’t the flower became clearer and why was it at the and a picture? how can i stop false awaking and why does it happens so often to me?
EDIT:
in the first post i wasn’t sure if i awoke. now i’m sure that it was a false awaking.
I never noticed that things became clearer when I stared at them. Where did you find this curious information ?
On the opposite, when you stare and focus on an object in a LD, it often transforms. Thus it’s quite normal that the flower transformed into a image.
False awakenings are common in LD’s. You have to be aware of this, and when you believe you have awoken, you have to wonder if it’s not still a dream, or better, perform a RC.
