Reclamation: MMORPG taking place in a dream

Los Angeles, CA, May 25, 2004 - Lyra Studios announced today that they are in the pre-alpha stages of a new MMORPG they have titled Reclamation. This game promises many things that previously were rare or unheard of in the genre. Reclamation is first and foremost a role-playing game, where you are encouraged and rewarded for playing your character.

Reclamation takes place in the Dream City of Underlight, a place accessable only to those who have a rare ability to be Awakened. Here Dreamers roam in a world shared only with Nightmares. A world apart from the body, where strength of mind takes precedence over strength of body. Here you are what you wish. Teach, rule, learn, fight, but above all… Dream.

Sounds like a fun concept. I doubt it will deliver on some of the stuff though. A lot of games promise close communities and never really quite deliver on it. I think it is still a fun concept either way though. Graphics look a bit cell shaded (even though they arn’t supposed to look cell shaded).

This reminds me of a few dreams I have had. I am a RPG addict and I play them all the time. And every once in awhile I have a dream where I am a character in a RPG. The dream has a nice story line, I usually end up facing some kind of character that will bring emotions out, and often times my dream will pause and I will see what seems to be a map with a mini character of myself standing on it moving around. Strange stuff.
