Scared of OOBE, but want to WILD

Yikes. That’s what I have to say about OOBE. I’m all good with the whole lucid dreaming thing, but I want to stay inside my body, thank you very much. Anyone have any tips on staying inside and lucid?

Don’t worry, an OBE is just a lucid dream that seems to take place in the real world, you don’t actually leave your body. If you do have an OBE just float back into your body and will yourself to go into a lucid dream, I havn’t tried this but it should work.

And OBEs are totaly ninja rare. I dont know anny opne who has actualy had one

It depends on what you believe OBE’s are. You can always go back into your body should you see it lying around. WILD should have nothing to do with OBE’s nor I’ve heard it inducing such experiences anyway.

Most of WILD’ers think WILD is just a dream. As it seems that you believe in astral projection, you have to know that a lot of astral projecters think that you don’t really “leave” your body. Something like your consciousness makes a double of itself.

At any rate, simply doing WILD most likely will not result in an OBE.

Hey, I’m completely new to the subject - I had one wonderful LD and now obviously I want to go back there .

But one night before my first, unexpected and amazing LD  I had a terrible experience:
I woke up in the middle of night with vertigo, nausea and pain - virtually in everything. I got up and go (with difficulties) to my parents room, because I was terrified, I thought I was dying. I tried to wake them but I couldn’t say a word. My eyes where open and everything in the room was exactly like real. I finally touched my mother’s hand but I couldn’t make her awake. And then I found myself in my bed - but the pain and fear were the same. I don’t know - if this was a dream? Or something else? Could that be an OBE? If it was only a dream, why did it hurt so much?

About 10 years ago I had 2 Old Hags - I didn’t know it’s popular and is called like that. I was also very frightened then. And now when I’m trying WILD it has something in common - the conciousness while the paralysis. I start to panic in the moment when I feel that my eyes are the only part of my body that can move.
I will certainly try any method to get back to my LD  but I don’t want those other experiences to repeat…
Sorry for such a long first-first post…

Hi Tsubame, welcome to the forum!

What you experienced was a dream, most certainly. Dreams can look 100% real. And pain in your physical body can translate into fear and pain in your dream. If this didn’t happen anymore I wouldn’t worry too much about it. About old hags, they are only as freightening as you imagine them. It’s all in your mind remember that. If you fear old hags will come to you and suffocate you, you will dream and experience exactly that. If you expect the old hag to be a nice lady to have tea with, then you would most likely experiene that. Also, dont panic when you are in SP, relax and use it to step into a LD! There is really nothing to fear but your own fear. Good luck!

Thank You, Xetrov ^^. I will remember.

It can be hard to calm down - but at last: LD is worthy of some conquered fears
