I’m quite new to lucid dreaming and after reading about sleep paralysis, I heard someone say that they heard a loud scream and it felt like someone was standing over them. I’ts kind of put me off trying sleep paralysis… is it possible this could happen or was it just someone trying to put me off?
only one lucid dreaming technique can increase the chances of SP, and that is WILD. It is possible to get hallucinations, but as long as we remember that it is only a hallucination and a sign that we are actually falling asleep, it doesn’t need to be a problem. as long as you haven’t been bothered by SP before, most lucid dreaming techniques doesn’t induce it
hehe ok thanks!
not to scare you or anything but SP can happen to anyone. From experience its nothing that would or could harm you even though theres always that weird presence that seems evil there with you. You shouldnt let SP stop you from lucid dreaming, in fact if you know how to lucid dream and are familiar with the experience then it will help you in a SP situation. Thats becuase you will seem to know where the boundries are between reality and a dream and it will calm you down.
I’ve always found it scary, but I have an overactive imagination anyway.
I experience SP a lot though and I’ve mostly come to terms with the fact that nothing is coming to get me whilst I’m lying there, I still find it creepy beyond belief but when you know that the feeling of unease is created purely by your mind it becomes a lot easier to deal with.
Sleep paralysis is nothing to fear about. In fact, use sleep paralyzes as a tool like I did. Out of body experiences or lucid dreams you can create!
That’s cleared stuff up quite a lot, thanks guys
Everyone goes through SP every night. Otherwise, you would be acting out your dreams in real life. It just depends on whether you are conscious or unconscious when it kicks in.
