I was just reading about LD’ing and I noted the phrase
" LDing can be hard because seeing is believing" and that gave me a good idea
My theory is doing something drastic like wearing a blindfold for 1 hour/ 1 day and then going to sleep. I figure 1 of 2 good things could come from this.
1.) The dreamer suddenly realizes that they can see again, yet they still haven’t taken the blindfold off yet.
2.) Even if in the dream, the dreamer still can’t see anything ( Darn SC ) they will not be distracted by the dream scenery, and have better clarity of thought, which if they actually pay attention, would lead to them realizing that its a LD.
One of my theories on why this might work is basicly why a nova dreamer works. You get so used to something happening/not happening ( not having red light shine on your eyes) that you start to think when it does/ doesn’t happen.
EDIT: Hmm I felt like freaking Einstein when I thought of this, but sadly, like 10 views and no comments.
Very clever idea. I like the innovation.
You clearly have a spark going.
Did you try it yet ?
I don’t think you’ll dream without seeing anything . The SC doesn’t pick up on things that fast, you’d have to not see for a couple of days for that to work.
I love your idea , and I think that with a little work , pushing it just a bit over the edge, it will make a fabulous drill.
Im not sure, the more time, probably the better of an effect. I think more than an hour would get really boring though.
Thanks! Yeah, I only put the “Blinded dreaming” option as a minority, I dont really expect it to happen.
This makes me think, I think we need a new uh, Subforum? Whatever you call a section of LD4all ( like general dreaming, lounge, etc) Not sure what the word is, but I think we need one for people that are devoted to trying to find an 100% success ( or close ) method. Even this Subforum gets old stuff shoved back up, and other weirdness.
Interesting. I will attempt it tonight, though I reckon I won’t notice I’m seeing stuff. Maybe if we set random intervals at which we put the blindfold off for a single moment (and RC), we could be more certain of it. Hmm…
Oh, and there is no such thing as a 100% success method. Atleast not any of the “common” ones.
I know ppl who LD several times a night every night. I was one of those searching for “the perfect technique”- it doesn’t exiiiist! When you start refining your technique- and I have gotten it extreemly specific success just seems to slip away somehow- that, I was happy to read, was because when you expect something to be hard your subconsciousness makes it elusive. Instead, now I don’t try to worry about it so much and use MILD. This can be tricky though, as our western culture dictates that we should work hard for success.
I didn’t actually put a blindfold on… but when i went to bed I told my self when i saw something that i would realize i am dreaming. It was a bad night for dreams, but when i woke up i questioned if i was dreaming because i could see again, seems like a great idea.
I would try it… lol but knowing me I would be in the dreamworld with a blindfold on. I think there are sever secrets to lucid dreaming, I aim to find them, I have found a few, as for the rest… time will tell. This is kind of a like a MILD focused on one thing.
