Should I start?

I’ve been recalling dreams for a bit more than two weeks now, and my recall still isn’t that good (This last week I’ve been remembering atleast a fragment a dream each night), but it’s better than when I started.

Should I start trying to lucid dream, or should I work on recalling more?

also: Is it ok to try a lucid dream induction CD while I’m falling asleep, or is it best to do it without one first?

Sure. I think a good one method to start with would be WBTB. I feel its a good starter method because its simple and as effective as anything else. sleep 5-6 hrs, stay awake at least a half hour then go back to sleep. focus on LD’ing when you go back to sleep.

I think you should start. If you see your dream recall is going worse, you stop inducing LD’s for a few days, and you strengthen your dream recall.
I think CD methods are rather experimental, so I dislike them. It’s just my opinion. Have you choosen your induction method ?

Not yet… last night I tried a lucid induction CD for the first time (I just listened to it as I fell asleep), and got a pretty good pre-lucid dream.

I’ll try it again tonight, and this weekend (when my spring break starts) I’ll try wake back to bed. I might try and print out some stuff and keep it by my bed so I don’t have to go into my other room.

Nothing says that one has to exclude the other. You can still try MILD and WILD before falling asleep, while trying to improve your dream recall. If you want to start experimenting with these techniques, do it! There’s nothing wrong with playing that CD either, just make sure it won’t prevent you from falling asleep
