Anybody have ideas/experiences on this?
I’m thinking about sleeping less at night, and having a nap during the afternoon. I’m a student, so i can kinda plan my sleep/study times.
Will i have a good chance of success for LDs?

No one can tell.
Everyone sleeps differently.It’s not same for all people.
So, you have to try it yourself, then see the results.
In my own experience I LD easier when I’m having an afternoon nap.
Like Hraesvelg said it’s different for everyone so you have to see what works best for you.
Even though different people experience different sleeping patterns in different ways (Sorry, I had to!), it is generaly accepted among the LDcommunity that during a nap you get more “quality dreams”: Your dreams are more vivid, and often more lucid.
Regardless of wether dreams are indeed different while napping, it is scientfically proven that naps consist of mainly REM sleep, unlike normal sleep, which has comparably little REM and more of different types of sleep.
All in all: You can achieve more while napping then while sleeping at night.
