Sleep Paralysis: Waking Up

I only seem to have sleep paralysis/hypnagogic state recognition when I am about to WAKE UP (not when I am about to fall asleep). Is this more common, and can I still get into a lucid dream by staying aware of this stage, even though it is occuring when I am waking up? It has happened a few times, and I feel as if I came pretty close to entering a dream, but I haven’t succeeded.

Thanks![/u]

I usually have it when waking up yes. Just learn to tell yourself “Sleep paralysis? Yep still asleep” Close your eyes and imagine your dream =p

According to a poll I made on a french SP forum :

  • 39% of people get SP right after falling asleep ( hypnagogic )
  • 26% of people get SP when they wake up ( hypnopompic )

And I think it’s harder to enter a lucid dream from an hyponopompic SP, indeed.

I have FA’s alot after real dreams and in those FA’s i get paralysed- so maby i do do it when i wake up?

if you wake up from SP ,just dont move, and concentrate on the feeling SP gives you, weary soon you will have SP again. For me it works,i can have 3 in a row ,then HI , then LD weary soon after that…I dont know ,but i find that tech weary easy…works every time sence i overcame the fear and buzzing that pressures me while SP.
