I have usually had a fairly chaotic sleep “pattern”. I would go to sleep at anything between 9 PM to 6 AM, and sleep for 3 to 12 hours. Some days i would work early and some days late. The last 2-3 weeks I have been moved into a more regular work plan. The result is zero LDs and almost no recall at all. I have heard of people losing recall when breaking their sleep pattern, but not from getting one! Any ideas?
How long have you been on the new sleep pattern?
I would imagine any change will have an effect on your recall. You might have to give your brain time to adjust to the new schedule. I’ll wager though that once your body adjusts to the schedule your recall and your lucid dreams will be better than ever.
This is the third week of this. In the beginning I thought it was from working all the overtime, but i still can’t remember any dreams after a week of normal 7 hour days.
I got all my LDs on either sunday mornings, or early in the mornings of those days i would work the late shift. Thanks for the encouragement
After the third week things will most likely be back to normal. Habbits are usually formed after 21 days for some reason. This will get your body and brain used to the more regular schedule which is more closely corresponding to the natural bio rhythms anyway.
You may want to after about a month look into taking a lecithen supplement with dinner to see if that helps.
Give your body time to adjust though.
PD
I find that going to sleep the same time every night helps dream recall and then you can also train your body to wake up to do WBTB without using an alarm But it seems to take a while to get used to a new sleeping pattern and I have also found that sleeping too much isn’t that good either for dream recall. I seem to be more tired if I sleep too much than if I sleep too little.
Hmm I would not think it would take that long for your body to adjust but, it is possible. I would say give it at least another week to work it’s self out. Then, if you are still not getting any recall act like you are starting over again. Just work on recall and forget about getting lucid for the time being. Give yourself suggestions to remember your dreams. Wake up once or twice during the night to remember your dreams etc.
By not not having a fixed sleep pattern… you have created a sleeping pattern. You now are just creating a new one…
