SleepTracker the sleep watch

sleeptracker.com/

Also, download the manual on the front page. I am interested. Has anyone tried it?

Curious

Haven’t tried it but it sound like it would work quite well actually  I would try to build a similar thing but accelerometers are expensive  then again I might be able to “improvise” one  I’ll report back if I decide to build one…

I have read many positive reviews on google,

google.com/search?q=sleeptra … 8&oe=utf-8

I have read one negative review but it looks like nitpicking to me…

-Seems like a great tool

Luckily its Water-Resistant, so I can sleep under water if I buy one…

that does sound like a really, really handy tool, and one i’d probably buy and use, if i didn’t love the watch i have at the moment as much as i do. i suppose i could have the sleeptracker watch as my “bedtime watch” but then that just makes it expensive. really good idea though! is anybody going to buy one? if you are, post a review here!

I figured out a way to build something similar that’s also cheap, but then I found out that the programmer I have for my microcontrollers doesn’t work for some strange reason… It worked before I upgraded my computer and that was only a few months ago. My idea for detecting movement is basically the same as how an optical mouse works but instead of using a small camera I could just use photodiode that cost only about 0.3 euros

So this thing measures movement using an accelerometer?
Does the body move only in light sleep?
If so, I was thinking I could use a webcam with motion detection software to set off an alarm when I move. Do you think that would work?

You can measure movement with a tilt switch. Strap a tilt switch to your arm, Then it will turn on and off a few times when you roll over.

You would have to go through a lot of fuss with camera/alarm.You cant possibly predict how much can happen- someone may enter your room or your pet may activate it, or some bugs…or…or.Then you have motion detectors with this and this sensibility- would be hard to find one with proper one or to set it up(would take long time of trying)
Also i cant imagine falling asleep remembering that camera is set and u cant move from now on or the alarm will go off.

Well I’ve set the motion detector so that it will only go off if I move between 05.30 and 7am.
It’s not sensitive enough to detect bugs and stuff, and nobody will enter my room. :content:
What I was wondering was in what stages of sleep the body may move.

Maybe if I strap the camera to my face it could detect REM
