Some beginner questions :)

Hey, I just found this place, it’s really AWESOME  I actually started to look for some page like this because I’ve been having some maybe half-lucid dreams, I think?

So, the questions…

  1. I’ve been having some dreams, where it’s impossible to know if it’s a dream or if I’m awake, and sometimes I’m in little control, should this make it easier for me to have a lucid dream?

  2. People say you fly and things? How do you do it? Do you do it the same way that you move your hand while you’re awake? I mean, is it something natural, you just can do it for some reason?

  3. How does lucid dreaming go with OBE’s? I mean, how to they “link”, if you wanna call it that? I see on this guide that it’s mentioned, but not much more than that. I’ve had 2 OBE’s this week, and I don’t really like it. One time, I wake up and I opened my eyes, and I saw that the part of the arm between the elbow and hand pointed up, and my hand was totally limp. I then tried to raise my hand, but it wouldn’t work, and it really got me going, I got really mad, but my hand wouldn’t lift. It’d start to raise itself about half an inch, then just fall back to a relaxed place. It wasn’t scary, just REALLY frustrating. The other time, I woke up, facing one side of the room, I then wanted to turn my body to face the wall, but I couldn’t. It felt like it took a lifetime, but eventually, I moved my body to face the wall, and I went back to sleep. Both times I got really frustrated, and I almost got sad, because I otherwise have good control of my body. Or maybe, I’m confusing this whole thing with sleep paralysis?

  4. What can I do? I think I read somewhere that you can do whatever you want? True? Can I really do anything I want, anytime I want, in the dream? Then, why should you ever want to be awake again?!

  5. I read the tips on the guide, are they good? It feels to me that I’ll feel more relaxed if I just do my regular going-to-bed routines instead of the ones in the guide. I’ll try them, but I’m just wondering what you think about them?

That’ll be all for now! Sorry if it’s a long read!

Moved from General Lucidness. :dragon:

Welcome

If you have some control, maybe try to ask yourself if this is a dream; it may help.

You can fly in many different ways, the key thing is, what you expect to happen, will happen. If you expect you can’t fly without an explanation (which reality has trained us to accept) you can’t. It may take a bit of time and reflection to get past that, or you may do it immediately.

Ask 3 people, get 3 different answers. OBE is very much a personal belief. There are those that say an OBE is an LD, and others that assert they aren’t. It really depends on your own viewpoint.

You can do, exactly what you expect you can do. Which isn’t always what you want to do. Become accustomed to changing the dream, and confidant you can do it, and you can do anything.

It’s best to try them, how is best to sleep and how is best to LD is personal in many cases. It may help if things are slightly different since it can act as a marker in your mind and help to enforce you setting your intention.
