i started my dreaming adventures at the end of october 2010.
my first journal entry was about two paragraphs.
the second, done the very next night was a whole page.
the third, the night after that. was three pages long.
but after that third night something in my life caused me to have a lapse in my entries. the next entry after that was 5 days later. and ever since then my entries have been spotty and only around 1 whole page.
my last entry was nov. 27. after that i just stopped.
but ive been trying numerous techniques to acheive lucidity.
such as listening to theta range binaural tones.
MILD everynight.
ive been taking omega 3 fish oil as a nootropic to help brain function
so lately the most lucid ive gotten was simply going about the dream aware that everything was very odd. but still not realizing its a dream.
im beggining to get concerned that i may have reached some sort of road block…
I don’t think you’ve hit a road block at all! It sounds like you’ve made a significant journey and are really trying.
Don’t be discouraged with your journal entries. It isn’t always practical to write a lot or every day. The idea of the dream journal is to give your dreams importance to your subconscious, to help you recognize dream signs, and to assist in recall. However, it isn’t something that is absolutely vital to achieving lucidity. If you have good recall, and just spend some time upon waking up piecing together the dream(s) from last night, then you can keep a small journal in your head. I’ve been in your shoes, where I have a string of 2-3 days where I write every morning and fill up a whole book practically, then a long period of time with little more than scribbles or blank pages. If you don’t let it bother you, then it won’t.
Also, like you, I take daily supplements of omega-3 to assist with brain function. I only started yesterday, but last night I already had several very vivid dreams. I’ve read that the pills have no long-term effects, and the assistance they give to dreaming eventually wears off, so if you’ve been taking them consistently for a long time, consider stopping for a few weeks then starting back up on them later.
If you were in a dream and aware that things were odd, you’re very, very close to achieving your goal! Don’t think of this as a road block, and keep moving ahead. If you don’t consider it an obstacle, neither will your subconscious.
I knew a guy who pretty much did the exact same thing. We are both friends and I was getting better and better at lucid and he was having dreams about lucidity and things like that. Eventually he got so discouraged that he quit, bu upon restarting he was able to recall 3-4 dreams every single night. So if it helps take a break (But it sounds like you already have) so take a less serious approach to things. Being lucid is fun but don’t let it come before real life.
Also seeing as we are all strangers here (Most of us) if you wouldn’t mind sharing the nature of “The event that happened in you’re life…”. It could potentially help everyone here give you advice.
