Strange dream

Last night I had this dream and it was possibly the weirdest dream I’ve ever had. Actually, I don’t even know if it was a dream or a nightmare.

I dreamed that my group of friends went to Iraq to go to war. Together with my friend John I had to walk around and shit. Well anyway, at one moment we just laid on the ground and from that point where we were at we saw the rest of our friends. Just for fun I shot at them and I coincidentally hit in Sarah the head and she was dead. I can still completely picture this.

John and I laughed about it cause I’m known for not being able to aim properly. Later on John told me he didn’t like the fact Sarah was dead cause now he had to move out to another place since Sarah was the one who got the appartment in the first place. I told him they’d understand that Sarah died in a war, but John still wasn’t comfortable with it.

This is where my dream ended. The last conversation between John and I was on a completely different scene though. It was sort of a movie theater with green-ish light.

One thing I have to tell about Sarah and John is this. They both live together in an appartment. Sarah got the appartment through a friend of hers (whom I don’t know) and she asked John to move in together with her cause it is so big.

Why am I posting this? Usually I don’t remember my dreams, but this time I did and I remember a lot of it actually. It’s also such a weird dream… I mean, Sarah is a friend of mine and in that dream I blew her head off. It’s got me thinking all day already (it’s 12.30am now).

I just don’t know how to explain this dream and I thought maybe someone can help… if you need to know anything more, just ask. I can still remember a lot.

There’s really only one person qualified to interpret your dreams for you…you!
It’s difficult to even guess at what that may represent unless you share a whole lot of personal information with us like what your relationship is like with Sarah, and what specific emotions you experienced in the dream, which you may not wish to do. On the other hand, there are a number of theories in relation to dreams and their meaning, one being that they’re nothing more than a random firing off of neurons in the brain. Personally I have found that when I concentrate on a dream that I believe has meaning, the meaning (if any) suddenly clicks into place about a day or so later.
Just try to see the dream event, in this case the shooting, from every possible angle, including that of Sarah’s and your friends points of view.

hope that makes sense,
S

Thanks for the reply.

I did what you said and I thought about it from Sarah’s and John’s point of view, but I still don’t get why I dreamed this.

About my emotions during the dream… I really don’t know… like I said, I don’t know if it was a nightmare or a dream. We both laughed when I shot her, but I don’t remember after that. What I do know is that we didn’t cry or anything. It was also a very serious dream until that one moment.

Could it be that in your dreams you can have emotions you don’t know about? Like for example that I really see Sarah (or Joihn) in a different way than I see her as I do.

Of course it can!! If this feels right to you, then you’re probably onto something. I’ve unearthed dark emotions I’ve had before, and come to terms with the reasons behind these emotions. I’ve also discovered feelings I didn’t know I had, and learnt how best to deal with these. There’s one psychological theory that dreams are the brains way of bringing certain information up from your subconscious storage, information that your subconscious believes you’re ready to accept, or that you need or should accept.

Keep at it,
S

Thats the think about dreams…You cant really explain the emotion that was attached to the dream, and the image of the dreams stays, but the emotion, and feeling is erased completly, and thats the importent part of why dreams may be your strangest dream ever.

All said here might be true, but it seems that sometimes dreams are really just random images that don’t need to have a deeper meaning at all. So keep that in mind when trying to explain weird dreams. On a sidenote, ND related stuff belongs in the “the Stuff Dreams are made of” subsection so I moved it here.
