Stupid, Stupid False Awakening

Hi All.

Ive been looking into LDing for the last week now, and almost made a breakthrough last night.

So how many times has this happened to you; You wake up from a dream start writing about it in your dream journal, and then you are off into another dream…

Not much else I could do till i really woke up and wrote about the dream, where I was writing about the dream…
Has a kinda recursive property to it

Hopefully, it will develop into a more reoccurring FA. Maybe if it does I can mix in some more RCs when I do my journal, I might be able to get some Lucidity out of it…

Any other hints?
Thanks.

hey, i (as far as i know) had only one FA, and i think it’s fairly possible to use FA’s for LD-ing

You have much more FA’s then you think, always RC when you wake-up, even when you do in the middle of the night, you’d be surprised ^^

The other day I had the strangest FA, I woke up lying in bed bed on my stomach with my legs bent at my knees and feet pointed towards the ceiling. There’s no way I was sleeping like that so it had to be a false awaking, but I didn’t realise it for at least on hour after I woke up for real soon after.

Could have been an LD if I did an RC for once.

Hi Ampage! Welcome to the forum!

FA’s are very common. Those prelucid dreams are generally a good sign, it means you’re close to a LD. If you notice you have a lot of FA’s, you can perform a RC every time you wake up, as Fadem says. It will help you in becoming lucid.

Haha that has happened so many times with me. Sometimes I notice my writing changes into hieroglyphics, and instead of becoming lucid I think it’s because of the dim light. Other times I just can’t seem to write anything, get frustrated and go back to sleep. Luckily I also sometimes become lucid during a FA.
As others suggested, try making it a habit of doing some profound RCs everytime you wake up. You can combine it with autosuggestion, for instance by repeating something like “next time I wake up, I WILL check my reality”.

Good luck

Hehe, I also had a weird, stupid FA recently: I was looking out of my window (in a ND) and I felt, that something was wrong. I turned around to do a dream check, but instead I “woke up” in my bed, thought for a second about what happened and felt really bad, because I had just lost my chance to get my 1st LD. I forgot to do a dreamcheck alltogether. I belive it was a FA, because my room was weirdly bright and my bodyparts moved really fast.

I’m new to this forum, I have already kept a DJ for 2 weeks and I’m really looking forward for my first LD  .

Welcome to the forums Santa.
Keeping a dream journal is a good way to help you get lucid, keep it up if you can! (I can’t!!!)
