Okay, so last night I tried the WBTB+MILD method. I went to sleep normally and woke up from my alarm not remembering anything. So I got up and browsed LD4all for 30 minutes. Then I went back to bed this time using MILD. Relaxing, saying “I’m going to become lucid” over and over. I think I went into a sleep paralysis because my body was tingling and it felt like I was floating. Now this is where I got stuck. I couldn’t get passed this part. I ended up moving by mistake and got annoyed and decided to go to bed normally. When I woke up I actually remembered the weird part of my dream. Here it is from my DJ: “Dream Journal 9.1.13. - aliens space being kidnapped having to save Earth. Waking up inside a second/first dream on the floor face down on brown carpet, Keyboard extensions and empty boxes.” Then I woke up. Weird right?
I can’t really comment on the whole sleep paralysis thing since I haven’t ever experienced it but the dream doesn’t seem that weird in comparison to some people’s. Since you’ve mentioned it I imagine it was an especially strange dream for you but I find non-logical dreams often occur. But did you watch a movie about aliens or find any keyboard extensions around or something. I find things that I focus on more throughout the day tend to find a way into my dreams.
If you are in SP, you can’t move, so you cannot move by mistake. The tingling and floating sensation is just really deep relaxation. I only experienced SP a few times, and before that I thought the feeling you describe was SP as well, but when you go through the real stuff, you know it’s different, much more intense. That said, SP is not your goal, so don’t worry about it too much.
What follows is just a normal dream. However, since you spent some time reading and thinking about LD’s, you’ve set your mind to dreaming. That resulted in cleary remembering your dream. Exactly your situation occurs to me often and if I don’t get LD’s from it, it at least leaves me with clear memories of my dreams. Which is the beginning of LDing, of course.
I don’t think this was really useful, but since I go through exactly the same as you often and still have LD’s every now and then, I thought I might as well share my experiences and thoughts on this situation.

Yeah oddly enough I was watching an episode of Family Guy where they go into space and lastly Futurama so that explains the space bit xD
