I usually take about 1 hour to fall asleep on a normal day, is this normal? And if isn’t, will it effect my my lucid dreaming?
This depnds on your brain and organism. One will fall asleep immediately, other (like me) will need 2 hours. That’s normal and you shouldn’t be concerned by it.
Well, if you plan on using MILD or WILD it may put you at a disadvantage. You should be able to WBTB though since you’ll already be really tired, while going back to sleep you should use WILD and MILD. Just make sure to do alot of RC’s and it should be fine.
It can take me up to 2 hours to fall alseep…bah. It can make me one grumpy person in the morning on school days.
A fellow insomniac! It’s quite common actually. Only an hour? That’s actually not bad.
It won’t effect your lucid dreaming unless you try using WILD (don’t bother with WILD it’s impossible for insomniacs).
awww, WILD sounded interesting to try.
You can go to bed earlier. I know, you won’t do it. Neither will I. WBTB seems to be the best method for everyone anyway so try it! It’s hard to do it all the time, but it is very good when you do it.
ok, i’ll try that…thanks!
It took me 4 hours once… And another day I actually didn’t sleep.
So, yeah, I guess an hour isn’t much to worry about.
Yeah, I will sometimes just lie in bed for HOURS and not do anything. I will look over at the clock, and see that its already 7:00. I hate that. But that only happens like twice a month, so I don’t run across the problem much.
well i also have the same problem ever since i can remember myself…
ive had nights of just lying in bed not doing anything waiting till morning…
meditation can be very helpful
try meditating for like 10-30 minutes before u try falling asleep
at the end of the process, begin to fill your head with positive thoughts and memories
eventually your body should go into deep sleep
once trained you will be able to fall asleep by simply choosing to do it
also
the known methods of counting sheep or anything like it actually works by putting the brain in a specific state which reduces activity, anyway it should help
cheers
It all depends on what time you go to bed/wake up.
If you go to bed at 2:00AM in the morning, and get up at 1:00PM, and then try to fall asleep at 9:00PM later that evening, It could take you really long to fall asleep.
Just Get up earlier if you usually go to bed late. It will help.
Well, I certainly consider myself lucky because it usually only takes me about 5 minutes or so to go to sleep.
As far as this and LDing is concerend WILD probably isn’t the best technqiue because you will have to lay there for so long that you will invariably get frustrated and/or lose concentration. MILD, however, would be a great alternative as you have so much to to repeat and infirm your intention.
As an additional note, if when you wake up later in the night you are able to fall asleep faster a WBTB + WILD would be another very viable option to consider.
