The all positive LD discussion topic!

There are a lot of topics about people failing so I decided to make a topic where only positive expierences are discussed, as a way to encourage each other.

:yay: Finally after 6 months of trying (though 5 of those months I didn’t try very hard) I did it; for anyone who is getting discouraged let me tell you that it really does feel great when you have your first LD.
I woke up at 5AM by accident because I had intended to sleep through the night. I figured since I was up I might as well try to do MILD so I said to myself over and over again “Next time I’m dreaming I want to remember I’m dreaming, recognize I’m dreaming” I fell back asleep at 6AM and had a dream where a girl was telling me about her blue tongued skink(it’s a type of pet lizard) and I saw that it’s tongue was red. The dream character I was with asked why it’s tongue wasn’t blue and then it started to change colors. That’s when I said to myself “I’m dreaming” and immediately did a nose RC which proved it.
I then went outside to a really pretty grassy area that looked like the outside of a college campus with a whole bunch of people walking around. A dream character was nice enough to remind me that I could fly but then another dream character said “people can’t fly” which struck me as funny considering he wasn’t even real. I didn’t get a hang of flying and only could jump really high of the ground and float back down, then I did some handstands which was weird because I could really feel the ground under my hand.
I then saw a host of a show I like called X-Play but it was the male host Adam Sessler. I decided I’d much rather see his female co-host Morgan Webb and turned around and then looked back hoping he would change. That didn’t work so I spun in a circle, and as I did He changed into She right before my eyes and I kissed her right there in the grass until my brother woke me up. Well that’s it, I just wanted to share my first LD with people because there are a lot of topics about failing and you have to keep positive if you want to LD.

Ah what a very inspirational topic!

My first time become lucid was after we (me, mom and aunt) drove right through a tornado! And then it smacked me like a pound of bricks, “IM DREAMING!”. But the best thing besides the neat experiments I did in that dream, is this pure rush of energy (which when I looked down at my hands was blue electricity) that I got when lucidity swept over me. I didn’t get that LD untill about 2 weeks after I found ld4All, which by then I had already given up on LDing.

But you must not give up! “When there’s a will, there’s a way” and by signing up for these forums you have stated that you have the Will!

My last bit of advice, read the Dream Journal’s of members here, take note on how they become lucid, I usually read somebodys journal every night before bed just to keep LDing on my mind.

I wish you all the best of luck, and remember dont give up, but dont try too hard either!

That’s really good advice. I’ve noticed that I’ve started to have much better recall since making a habit out of visiting the site every night.

You read my mind exactly Garak (probably because we both read that one post). In terms of LDing, the subconscious should be nurtured

Yeah, there is way to much negative stuff to read here.

Last night I thought to myself, this Lucid stuff is too difficult and I’m losing too much sleep over it. I decided to try one last time to LD, and I got one! It’s given me more hope to keep at it

That’s what happened to me too. I got my first one on a night that I decided not to set my alarm clock. The whole story is in the first post in this topic.

I started a similar topic a long time ago. unfortunately, it did not last too long.

Anyway, it is a good idea.

I believe that having a positive attitude about lucid dreaming is just as important as practicing the techniques. Likewise, negative thoughts and frustrations can be a huge barrier to overcome.
