The NSIILD technique (Named Subconscious Intent Induced Lucid Dream) is a powerful variation of MILD. Here are the steps:
1) This may sound dumb, but name your subconscious. This can be done by using a mantra such as “Subconscious, your new name Is [name]”. Be sure to use a name you normally don’t hear in waking life. For instance, I used the name Jerry, since I almost never hear that name.
2) Begin to communicate with your subconscious. This may seem hard, but in reality it is actually quite easy. You simply start asking your named subconscious questions. For example, I would ask something such as “Jerry, what is the meaning of life”. Don’t put any effort into consciously answering the question. Simply wait for an answer from your subconscious. Your subconsciousness will show you a series of images, from which you interpret the answer.
3) When you feel as if you well enough in touch with your subconscious ask it if it will give you a lucid dream tonight. Again, don’t put any conscious effort into answering the question.
4) Once you get to bed, use a mantra such as “[name] will give me a lucid dream tonight” until you fall asleep. It also helps to visualize the appearance of your subconscious while repeating the mantra.
Overall, the technique is more effective than MILD, and I find that it has a very high chance of success. I’ve only gotten to testing the technique twice, so let me know how it goes.
I think you would have more success at having a fragmented personality than a lucid dream… but what ever does it for ya?!
Every ‘new’ technique has a high chance of success - especially if you actually only have tried it twice. And if you have only tried this twice, how do you know that this technique is more effective than MILD? You are making some pretty WILD claims here.
Well for one thing, I know it is more effective than MILD because MILD never works for me
That is what works for you… which does not necessarily mean its a more effective method… only this method works better for you than MILD.
That is different to what you are claiming in your original post.
it seem every day theres a new technique and every day i try a new one
I never tried this intentionally… but when I began my exploration of dæmonism, which I just explained here, I had more LDs than on average. I usually have about 1 or 2 a month, but I had 3 that week… and 2 of them included my “named SC” (or dæmon, as I prefer to think).
If you happen to be a highly visual person, like I am, then I suggest imagining your SC to be an animal that has personal meaning to you. I’m horrible at remembering names so this works better for me.
This isn’t really about having a split-personality, as was suggested. It’s similar to CALD, IMHO.
My SC is a glaucous-winged gull named Theo. He likes to sing and doesn’t like how much time I spend on the internet when I could be getting proper sleep and actually having an LD. xD
Good idea, hunaynay . I’ve added the visualization part to the last step of the technique.
Last night, I’ve found that this technique is far more powerful than I previously thought. Rather than use the mantra myself, I asked my subconscious to repeat the mantra “I will give you a lucid dream tonight”. Sure enough I had lucid dreams… in-fact, every dream I had that night was lucid.
