The Quest for Motivation

Hi, for the last few months I have been trying to WBTB and each time I come accross the same problem. I wake up, feel no urge to LD, and quickly fall back asleep. :grrr: I find this extreemely frusterating, bucause during the day I am indescribably determined to lucid dream. But as the sun sets my determination slowly ereodes away, and by the time I am awoken by my alarm at 2:00 I don’t give a crap about my lucid dreaming campaign. I find this very sad. Can anyone give me some advice?

I’ve had a similar problem… good question. Perhaps you need to give yourself a valid reason to wake up… like something you’re obligated to do.

take that strong ambition to lucid dream during the day and apply it at night, you HAVE to have motivation at night because thats when it counts the most. a LD is not going to just “Happen” you need to have motivation to do an RC while dreaming, to relieze your dreaming, to recall your dreams.

Motivation during the day is good in the aspect it may help get rid of all those subc mental blocks. and it may incourage you todo more RC’s during the day. But other then that the real time it counts is at night.

I wish I could be more helpful

I was having the same kind of problems some days ago but i just confronted the tiresome moment when i wake up after the alarm(3.30am) and i said to myself “if you want to LD get out the bed right now and do the WBTB or you are gonna be the rest of your days wanting to LD with no success”.

It’s like we lose the motivation due to the lack of “seeing” what are the results and why are we doing this.

Same problem i always just fall back asleep.
