THILD - THirst Induced Lucid Dream

There’s already a technique named TILD, so I simply added a letter. I got thinking of this when I remembered an experience I’ve had as young (younger!). I think I was five years old, and I was lying in my bed. I hadn’t had anything to drink for a while and I didn’t want to get up and get a glass of water (I was really afraid of the dark). Anyway, I remember having like 5 dreams in which I got so thirsty I just couldn’t stand it no more and went for a glass of water. Everytime I realized that I was dreaming I woke up (Either I realized or I woke up after I had finished my drink). And 5! Five opportunities I got, but I was only 5-6 years old and had never ever even heard of Lucid Dreaming.

Instructions:
1. Make sure you don’t drink anything before going to bed. If you’ve just had a nice glass of water, you might want to eat something salt.

2. Make sure that by the time you’re ready to go to sleep you’re so thirsty you can’t think of else.
Before going to bed, tell yourself that you will not drink anything tonight and if you do so, you will do a reality check and you will realize that you’re dreaming.

3. Now, go to bed. Relax while thinking about how thirsty you are and how nice and easy it would be to just get up and get a glass of water. After a while you will probably find yourself standing in the kitchen with a glass of water, and you will realize you’re dreaming.

Please try this technique and give me a feedback about how it worked.

Seems like an extremely unpleasant way to get lucid to me :meh:

Well, based on my own experiences this technique works really good. Just listen to the whole concept, doesn’t it sound almost bulletproof (Far from but you get the point).

It should work i guess? too late for me to try it tonight (don’t much fancy eating any salt :yuck: )

I did the opposite a few nights ago, I had to pee in the dream 3 times and even though I had planned it I didn’t even realize, I was kicking myself the morning after. (thankfully my body was intelligent enough not to actually wet the bed, that would have taken some explaning the next day!)

Of course this was a dream that also involved Batman fighting Zombies in a public swimming pool in Coventry, If that didn’t make me stop and think then what hope do I have!?!

These can be found at Wikibooks: en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Lucid_Drea … techniques

wiki the source of everything true

what is the difference between this tech and the other?

Damn, well, looks like I’m a bit late with my technique  That technique is based on the same concept but mine is done (a bit?) different.

I think it a good pshychological kind of way to get kucid. But I think it is especially helpful to those dreamers that are experienced in LDíng.

I don;t think that unexperienced dreamers will get a high succesrate on this one!
